Former University of Montana football star Trumaine Johnson has been arrested for drunk driving in Missoula.

The jail roster shows that Johnson was booked into the Missoula County jail at 3:05 a.m. Friday on a misdemeanor DUI charge, and posted a $700 bond about an hour later.

The NFL and individual teams have so many options/programs for players to avoid getting a DUI. It's really a shame they go to waste...

There really is no excuse for getting one...

Young and reckless. Hopefully he smartens up. Is this suspension worthy?

Does that mean he was under the legal limit? I don't know how it is in other states, but if you're under .08 in Oregon but driving erratically, they can still cite you for DUI. The punishments aren't as harsh, though.

There was an NFL represenative on Sirius just the other day talking about this exact issue. The host asked this exact question, about players being "back home" (away from the team's major city). He eluded an example of a program in place by several teams....

The player calls a designated # from the team. They help him locate a cab service before they go out and can even set-up the cab to pick him up at a designated spot. They also can have the cab fare billed to an account set-up by the team, or if they are able to produce a receipt can be re-imbursed for the fare...

Nah, I say keep it. It's nice to see different Rams represented instead of the same 3-5 players...

It was a dumb mistake on his part, but no one (thankfully) got hurt in the end. Hopefully, he'll learn from it and grow up...

He's still a part of this team, with the potential to be an even bigger part...
