I'll go with TJ.

That seems to be the logical answer however this could be a trick question and once we all answer TJ you are going to hit us with facts and stats to say otherwise lol.

I'll say this as well. TJ has more potential and given the option I believe we kept the right one.

I give the edge to Tyson, because of his play toward the end of the season. He actually became somewhat disruptive, which was nice to see.

Dorsey gets an incomplete for finishing the season on IR, but even still, Tyson played better then him.

If this was post-2010 season, it'd be Dorsey, but he never played that well again after that year. I think his body just began to let him down.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1444335-br-nfl-1000-2013-top-35-3-4-defensive-ends/page/24 - sorry this is what prompted this. My favorite part of his Dorsey eval is "he has short arms" Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Discard my Dorsey vote. I missed the "last year" caveat. Since GD was hurt most of the yesr, I think the answer is obvious.

Tyson and its not even close IMO. Dorsey had a good 2010 season and played well towards the end of 2009-10. Since then he his play had slowly declined. I think Tyson has already become a better 3-4 end than Dorsey ever was. Tyson can disrupt passing lanes and occasionally apply pressure. Dorsey was a better run stopper than TJ at his best but that's all I'd give him.

One thing I fail to understand is the dislike of either. Granted I believe TJax will end up being one of the more productive 3-4 ends in the league and I would say he has been better. But.... Until Poe came on at the end of last year this is a moot point. To have any productivity out of the ends in the system your nose must demand doubles and have the ability to disengage from multiple blockers. Not once before Poe did we have that.

then only take into account Dorsey's play when he was on the field. Not that hard.

Ironically, I just stumbled across Bleacher Report's ranking of the top 35 34DE in the NFL, posted today.

13. Glen Dorsey
27. Tyson Jackson

Coincidentally, 10. Mike DeVito

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1444335-br-nfl-1000-2013-top-35-3-4-defensive-ends#/articles/1444335-br-nfl-1000-2013-top-35-3-4-defensive-ends/page/35

PS: More fodder that TJ is below average.

so what is the general mindset of Chiefs fans moving forward regarding Tyson Jackson, without taking into account his draft position?

Is he on an upward trend, getting better? I know learning a 2-gap/read-react system can be pretty tough (as our own DEs have learned) but is Jackson starting to show the ability that made him an early pick?

Can people stop posting Bleacher Report garbage in here. It is nothing but complete and utter trash. I knew a drug addict from High school who used to write for BR.

Tyson. To me, Tyson is just a mediocre player. Dorsey is a mediocre player who was ALSO in a scheme that disallowed him to do well.
