I went with Lane Johnson. The Cardinals have arguably the worst offensive line in football, and it doesn't matter who their QB is if they can't protect him. So it's either Johnson or Warmack in my opinion, and I went with the more premier position.

Matt Barkley simply doesn't fit the QB mold that Bruce Ariens likes, I would expect them to make a play for Mike Glennon in the second. Not to mention, they signed Drew Stanton to a solid contract, and tendered Hoyer. I don't think they are looking at QB early.

And Arizona had the 12th ranked defense last year, so I don't see them going in that direction with their first pick.

OT Lane Johnson, Oklahoma

IMO, Warmack is going to go high in mock drafts then the actual draft.

yeah, usually happens with guards.

Out of curiosity, you guys think Barkley is the 2nd best QB? seems like the pundits are touting other guys. A more mobile QB might solve some of those arizona offensive line nightmares, but i went Warmack.

I don't, but then again, this draft is more like who's the least suckiest, because I don't see a future Pro Bowler out of this lot. I think both Manuel and Nassib are just as likely to be the 2nd best as Barkley does. It's really hard to gauge, just because these guys are all so lacking in potential.

ok, cool, thanks for the reponse. I agree on your take, there.

Be fun to have a camera in the Arizona fans draft party room if they went with the USC qb in the top 10. Of course, i have a sick sense of humor and still laugh at the "jets suck" chants at the 1983 draft when the jets passed on marino for o'brien. I'd be curious at Arizona fans reaction so soon after Lienart.

I thought Nate Potter played well for them last season despite being a 7th round draft pick. Bobby Massie (many here wanted him instead of Kalil) was absolutely horrible.

I went with Chance Warmack. Their line is horrible and I trust Warmack to become a very good NFL player more than I do Lane Johnson.

Though with this board, I would rather trade back.

Who wanted Massie over Kalil?

Have they shown their faces on the forum since? Laughing

Maybe they wanted Claiborne at #4 and Massie in the 2nd?

I personally would go Johnson here, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Cards took Barkley.

I wanted a rd 2 tackle. I would have traded down, selected fletcher cox. used the trade down loot to get a tackle. i think there are quite a few guys in rd 2 or later who the vikes would have been very fine off with. If you don't think Fletcher Cox is good, or worthy of a selection ahead of LT, some GM's seem to disagree. Starks, a 9 yr vet, just got the franchise tag and they let Jake Long walk. Starks did not play as well as Cox last year. Another DT got the franchise tag in Chicago - Melton also did not play as well in his 4th year as Cox did in his 1st. Now, I still was mocking the vikes to take Harrison Smith, so maybe that trade up has to happen to get him, but the vikes could have traded down and ended up with, say, Cox, Smith, then someone like Cordy Glenn, Oesemele, or even Jon Martin.

Don't need a top 5 LT to win, as Miami has just conceded.

Jake Long isn't a Top 5 LT.

I do agree that Fletcher Cox would look very good in this defense.

meant drafted top 5. and jake long has 4 probowls in 5 years. injuries last year, sure. He sure got paid in St. Louis, though. wonder which jake long they got.

yeah, glad you agree on fletcher cox now. I was beating that drum to death by myself last year. Now that Philly is going to a 3-4, think we could pry him away? For vikings perspective, Cox is far superior to Sylvester Williams (by my eye watching a little tape so far) against inferior competition. (cox dominated alabama's line, for instance). I wonder what it would take? send Webb to them as a throw-in, lol.
