Maximum value of Ed Reed's deal with the Texans is $16 million for 3 years. Very strong deal for an older safety, especially in this market

Hopefully that's not per year. But either way, glad to have Ed Reed in a Texans uniform.

Wouldn't be surprised if most of the contract is guaranteed. Guessing $12,000,000 for max value.

+1

If the deal is something like
2013: $4M + $1.5M SB (fully guaranteed)
2014: $4.5M + $1.5M SB

I would be ok with that as a fan. It would also indicate the numbers were closer to what Rick Smith wanted than Ed Reed's camp. But that's IF those are the #'s

Jackpot! Well done Rick.

Now lets draft Reid/Elam or Amerson

This also means we're possibly switching to a traditional nickle package, with Reed roaming deep.

Agreed.

It took a long time, but the deal is now done. Reed in a Texans jersey is going to be a strange sight, even for a Texans' fan...but I'll take it!

Welcome to Houston, Ed!
