Looks like the first round is going to be OT, WR or DT. The FO seems to be plugging the secondary with FA this year. Don't know if Mitchell is a stop-gap or not. I've never seen the guy play so I don't know.

He will be competing against DJ Campbell. Doubt we would give Nakamura a leg up. Nice to see us filling out needs to put us in a position to take BPA.

Don't know too much about this guy. Can't tell how much he'll contribute

He did well filling in for Tyvon Branch. I've always wanted him to get a shot but we signed Tyvon to a deal and we're stuck with it for now.

He has potential and played well enough, I doubt you're paying him a lot so it's a low risk move. He needs to work on coverage though.

Mitchell excels more against a TE in coverage from what I have seen. Perfect for this division. I like the signing.

If we're signing him with the hopes that he'll isolate and shut down Graham/Gonzalez, obviously we'll be disappointed. But I think he can make a solid push as a starter, he fits in with Godfrey pretty well, and the big play issues we give up should slow down for sure.

Solid pick up. He deserves to be a starting SS, He's a big hitter, solid at covering TEs and is a great locker room guy.

We used him in our big nickel forms. I hope u guys turn him loose cause he can really lay a hit. He's got fire and never was really given a chance to play, just like stevie brown. and u see how Ye turned out.

The sooner we can get rid of Nakamura and his terrible contract the better. That being said I'm not sure Mitchell is a long term solution at safety. The Panthers secondary is actually looking solid now, but there are no game changers on the roster. If we could draft an impact safety as BPA at 14, I would be happy with that. Cornerback maybe not so much, that position actually looks like a solid mix of veterans and younger veterans at this point in the offseason.

Nakamura doesn't have a terrible contract. Quite the opposite actually, he's getting paid like 700k this year. Sure he sucks as a safety, however he's good on ST. 700k for a ST player isn't bad at all.

His cap hit is still over a million for each of the next 3 seasons. Not worth it, in my opinion.

I like this signing. Mitchell is one heck of an athlete at the very least. I remember he was a huge reach when he was drafted by Oakland, however he played well as a backup and should be the starter here.
