I believe in taking the BPA. This would be Sheldon Richardson DT from Missouri. Since it isn't a top priority I would prefer to trade down. You have the Eagles and Bills looking for QB. There is E.J. Manuel, Matt Barkley, or Mike Glennon.

I'm of the opinion guards can be found later in the draft and developed (Kromer has a track record of this as well).

We need a mike backer and I love me some Arthur Brown.

Is he "over-drafted" at 20?
I think a little but it would not be "drive you crazy early".

Richardson seems to be on the rise.

Windy,
You're always ahead of the curve. I often find that you're the only Bears fan I find myself agreeing with on here more often than not.

Arthur Brown or DJ Fluker would be perfect. Although I think we are sleeping on Warford.

Warford is a grey area player for me.

-Way to early for him at 20, because he is somewhat limited.

-No way he reaches 50, probably a 30-35 guy.

His gray area for me is if he's worth #50. Really disappointed with what I saw from him at the Senior Bowl practices. He's getting overrated.

id love to get Warford in the second but i don't think he will be there at 50.

in the 1st round Cooper will probably be gone and i don't see anyone worth the pick there for the Bears besides Cooper if he is there. Id love to see a trade down to get Minter or Brown to play the Mike in the future.

Warford is very over-rated and he may well last till the third round. He is one of those I do not want in the first two rounds for sure.

Why do you think he's overrated Al?

He seems kinda sloppy and fat to me. I do not believe he is a first round pick as some do so that is overrated. Nor do I believe he is worth a second so that is overrated as well. I would not even consider him before the third round. PFW has him as a 3d/4th round and one of the scouts is quoted as saying "Larry Warford was a lot better as a junior than he was as a senior. He put on weight and didn't move around as well. I always get nervous about guys who might eat themselves out of the league. He could be one of them." Prior to the season Phil Steele rated him the fourth best guard in college which says nothing about his pro potential.

He can probably play and maybe even start in the pros but I do not want him high.

Al, I agree with you to a point. Per my board he is the 43 best player available and could still be there for our second pick.

IMHO a decent value.

I think he will be and maybe even later. No matter, I would not reach for him.

Trade 20 to Philly (Florida State QB E.J. Manuel)

Get back this year's #35 (2nd) & 67 (3rd), and next year's 4th round pick.

Bears select from (Hopefully):

#35: Menelik Watson, OT, Florida State or Terron Armstead, OT, Arkansas-Pine Bluff or Larry Warford, OG, Kentucky or Jonathan Banks, CB, Mississippi State

#50: Arthur Brown, LB, Kansas State or Khaseem Greene, LB, Rutgers or even Manti Te'o, LB, Notre Dame

#67: Kyle Long, OT, Oregon or David Bahktiari, OT, Colorado or Barrett Jones, C/G, Alabama or Justin Pugh, G/T, Syracuse -or- IMO, a real dark horse candidate, Chris Faulk, OT, LSU
Cool with a speed receiver in the fourth round I could dig it man

Man I'm feeling like this pick at twenty could be huge bruh. Like man this whole new BEARS attack style is for real. Like they're making these people pay for them forgetting about Halas. Chicago is going to be a monster for real Jack.

Richardson isn't really rising, he's been one of the top 3 or 4 DT prospects all year.
People don't mention DT as a need for us, but really the only guys we have right now are Melton, Paea and Collins. Paea and Collins are okay, but could be upgraded. Depth is needed, though spending a first rounder is a luxury pick, Richardson is more than worthy of the 20th pick and he fits the defensive scheme to a T (although our need is more at NT than 3 tech). I don't see how he would get past Dallas though. If they are going to play Tampa 2 as well, they NEED a 3 tech, and Richardson is perfect for it.
In the mock scenario described though, he and Ogletree are far and away the two best players available. Either one would be good value at 20. I think Ogletree would need some time to become a full time starter at MLB, but with Williams in place for a year Ogletree could learn from him, get a litle stronger, and sub in on passing downs as a rookie, then take over in 2014. He could be a terror WLB right out of the gate too so he can be insurance for Briggs this year too.
