Not just that, but there has got to be coaches out there that figure if you put him on an established defense, his value may be much more than what you can find in the 6th round, or even the 5th. Rex Ryan also comes to mind. Jet's are trying to get younger and rebuild, they may take a chance on a young Rolando for a low round pick. |
I sure hope so. Teams may be looking at the Raiders as not having the structure that would be able to "handle" a talent like McClain. Whatever. They can have him and give it a try. And he may have some success even if its a little. The hey here is that McClain will be telling teams how bad it was here and using it as an excuse as to why he didn't perform.
So in actuality, McClain's ability to sell himself will determine the compensation we receive.
Let's just hope he is at least good at that. _________________

Of course, how does that have anything to do with it?
It was simply an example of a team who is willing to trade for a player while knowing he would be released in order to prevent someone else from signing him as a free-agent. |
True but I don't think anyone would lose sleep if hey missed out on McClain. _________________

Again, of course, there was no compression made.
It was purely an example of the scenario happening in the NFL. _________________

If we do switch to a 3-4, I think he would be an okay player. But I agree, it is time to move on from him and get his contract outttttta here! _________________ First jersey purchased: Jamarcus Russell.
Second jersey purchased: Rolando McClain.
Next purchases: Every Chiefs, Chargers and Broncos player. |

Please, someone bite. To have his salary completely off the books (not to mention whatever we con someone into giving up for him) would be a godsend. Please, someone, anyone.
I almost wish it was like baseball where we could agree to eat a portion of his salary. Nothing like that occurs in the NFL, does it? When you trade for a player, you trade for the whole contract? _________________

McKenzie cutting DHB and Huff was a sign of respect for there efforts, but McClain will be afforded no such luxury.
He will be let go right before training camp when his value is almost nothing, and he probably won't play this year, he going to lose a ton of money over this...................and all i can do is |

Just based off the "talent" he's shown, he's probably worth a 6th. Combine that with his contract and character concerns, and no team will trade for him. If he was any good, teams would be willing to gamble, but that's not the case. _________________

Nothing to lose by doing this, and if we get literally anything for him it can be considered a bonus. Maybe just maybe a (stupid) team out there will see something they like and give up a 7th. _________________

A top 10 first rounder traded for a 7th would add a stink to his career that he may never shake. He should want to be cut. _________________

Depends if it motivates him. He plays well under a good team then we look bad. Randy Moss situation. _________________

Depends. McClain may extend for an incentive laden deal. have the Raiders indicated when by what date they will release McClain? The longer the Raiders hold him the better as there always TC injuries. _________________ 2013 Mancrush: DT Richardson, OT Joeckel, FS Vaccaro, FS Rambo, WR Dobson, RB Michael, TE McDonald, OT Foketi, WR Swope |
