Lambert gave me an idea the Poll thread that I thought might be interesting and maybe even fun. In the other thread we're picking one guy that you could add to the roster. In this thread you're going to put nearly ALL of your starters.

Here's the rules:

1) Offensively: You have to keep Antonio Brown and 1 current offensive lineman (at least), could be any one of them.

2) Defensively: You have to keep Lawrence Timmons and any other current player (just one).
In addition to the 'must keeps' name your 11 starters on offense and defense.
If you Ďreplaceí a current starter itís assumed that you either cut or traded them (details not necessary, but hey, itís your post, do whatever you want lol)

3) Special Teams: You have to pick a Return Man: Cannot be a starter at another position. (can be real NFL starter, just not on your hypothetical team) Also: Pick a Kicker & a Punter

*Bonus Option *: For your ď11thĒ Offensive Player, you have the option to pick a FB, any currently non-Starting WR (#2/slot receiver, be creative/canít be Antonio Brown), or a 2nd TE.

_____________________________________________________________

Offense:

QB: Ben Roethlisberger: This is actually the last position I filled in and it was quite difficult for me to decide upon. In the end, with all the playmakers I have and the offensive line, I felt it necessary to stick with a guy who has proven capable of extending plays like no one else can.

HB: Frank Gore: He is exactly the type of Running Back that the Steelers could use. While I do believe that Adrian Peterson is the most dynamic RB in the entire league and makes plays like no one else can, Frank Gore is a beast and cuts through even the best of Defensive lines like butter.

WR: Calvin Johnson: Does this really need an explanation?
WR: Antonio Brown: Iíd have kept him even if I didnít have to, I really like A.B.
TE: Jimmy Graham: This guy is a secondaryís worst nightmare.
TE: Vernon Davis: Adequate Blocker, even better receiver!

LT: Joe Thomas: One of the best Offensive Linemen from inside of the division. Perfect Tackle to protect my Quarterback.
LG: Logan Mankins: If heís good enough to protect Tom Brady heís good enough to Protect Ben Roethlisberger.
C: Maurkice Pouncey: The connecting link of talent to my offensive line!
RG: Marshall Yanda: Yep, stealing another divison guy. Quick foot work, very capable, sometimes he struggles against elite 3-4 Defenses, but look at the guys around him. Heíll be just fine.
RT: Ryan Clady: Athletic and powerful; Perfect mixture of talent to protect my Quarterback

Defense:

LE: J.J. Watt: Iím not smoking anything! Put Watt on your defensive line and youíre virtually guaranteed to increase your deflected passes. He gives QBís migraines!
RE: DeMarcus Ware: A true warrior, possibly one of the few guys at the moment division rivals have to specifically game plan for.

DT: Haloti Ngata: The man is a beast and always a serious challenge, to be able to take him from the Ravens and make him an allyÖoh yeah! Thatís what Iím talking about!

LOLB: LaMarr Woodley: (as long as he loses weight) Could you even imagine the destruction Smith & an in shape Woodley would create? *Iím projecting this as my must keep*

ILB: Lawrence Timmons: Even if I didnít require myself to keep him, I would have. The man is becoming a downright beast and is easily our best current LB
ILB: Patrick Willis: I may or may not be in the minority here but I believe that Patrick Willis is the best current ILB in the entire NFL. His Counter-Part, Navarro Bowman isnít far beyond (but not as good as Timmons imo)

ROLB: Aldon Smith: QBís worst nightmare!

CB: Darrelle Revis: Welcome to Revis Island, Stay as long as you like, just do yourself a favor and donít throw his way. (I think heíll be fine coming off the injury)
CB: Joe Haden: Fast, Physical, Playmaker!

FS: Ryan Clark: I donít care if he is 105, the guy is still producing at a very high level. He provides a leadership in the secondary that I donít feel anyone else can.

SS: Eric Berry: Young Stud Playmaker!

KR/PR: Patrick Peterson: Playmaking returner with plenty of speed to burst off TD runs.

K: Stephen Gostkowski: Very accurate, rarely misses.
P: Dustin Colquitt: The man can coffin kick like no one else.

I'm going for a mix of win now with future in mind to an extent.

QB - Rodgers
HB - Peterson
WR 1 - Calvin Johnson
WR 2 - Brandon Marshall
WR 3 - Antonio Brown
TE - Gronkowski
LT - Thomas
LG - Mike Pouncey (played it at Florida so that's good enough for me)
C - Mack
RG - DeCastro
RT - Mike Adams (future stud at RT IMO, or good LT)

NT - Justin Smith (Don't love the fit but he's just a tank)
LE - Watt
RE - Heyward
LOLB - Von Miller
ROLB - Aldon Smith
ILB - Timmons
ILB - Willis
CB - Sherman
CB - Revis
FS - Clark
SS - Polamalu (when healthy)

K/PR - Patrick Peterson
K - Zerlein
P - Anger

This is a fun topic, but I do think it wouldve been better if you had made it more challenging.

In this case, you pretty much made it so everyone could build a dream team, while retaining two pretty damn good players from the Steelers, and the ability to retrain two other great players.

Not trying to nitpick or anything, but its just way to easy to build the most dominant team in football with this. Just basically pick all the best players in the league.

Yes, I say you can only add one player on offense and one on defense. The catch being if you add a player, you must remove the current best player at the position.

Add Calvin Johnson, then AB gets cut.
Add a LB and Timmons is gone.

Bonus then throw in any 2 (2013) rookies

so unless I read this incorrectly, we basically build a dream team with Antonio Brown, a Steelers' offensive lineman, Lawrence Timmons, and one other guy on defense.

With a combination of both youth and a "win now" perspective:

QB - Aaron Rodgers
RB - Adrian Peterson
WR - Calvin Johnson
WR - Antonio Brown
WR - AJ Green
TE - Jimmy Graham
LT - Matt Kalil
LG - Mike Iupati
C - Stefan Wisniewski
RG - Andy Levitre
RT - Mike Adams

LDE - JJ Watt
NT - Marcel Dareus
RDE - Cam Heyward

LOLB - Von Miller
BUCK - Patrick Willis
MACK - Lawrence Timmons
ROLB - Clay Matthews

CB1 - Richard Sherman
CB2 - Patrick Peterson
FS - Eric Weddle
SS - Kam Chancellor

Good roster....Im guessing from the makeup of your defense that D1ck LeBeau wouldnt be your DC. Laughing Cool

And while Weddle is a very good player, Id take Earl Thomas over him easily. Best safety in the league right now.
