#Niners reached a one-year deal with LB Parys Haralson, I'm told. It's for $1.3M with a chance to make $1.7M. Good locker room guy, too

He wasn't a FA, just restructures his deal.

And it saves us 1.5 million in cap space. In reality, Manningham and Haralson had no choice but to restructure their deals Laughing .

Who else is susceptible to getting a restructured contract with the Niners?

Love this. He's definitely a serviceable backup and quality depth. Good move.

Like many others, I love this move. He isn't worth the money he was getting, but it is great to have a guy with starting experience who can rush the passer a little bit. Not only that, but he is experienced in our system and his teammates already as well. Far better to keep him than sign any mid-tier FA's. Losing him last year is a big reason we didn't have a rotation at OLB to keep everybody fresh. If Fleming can step up this year too we have some great depth to keep our starters fresh throughout the season.

This got me wondering what roster spots were completely open right now. Obviously we can stand to improve in many areas, but are there any completely unmanned spots on the 53 right now? The ones that jump out to me are.

3rd QB
ILB - (Skuta is a STer only, we need a 3rd)
3rd TE
FS

Any others that come to mind? Again these are positions we need to fill an empty spot, not ones we feel we need to improve with new talent.

I'd like to get a quality swing tackle.. Boone definitely can move if needed, but I'd like for us to never have to worry about it.

I have us drafting Kyle Long in my mock for this purpose.

We're lucky Brooks and Aldon were able to play all of last season, we had very little behind them. I thought we might let Parys go and use mid rounder or so on an OLB. Anyone thing we might still draft one? We don't usually keep 4 OLBs on the roster. So it seems unlikely to me.

Skuta has starting experience and has actually played games on the Bengals defense which is more than Costanzo did.
