Bold is our current cap space.

Approximately how much will the rookies take up in cap space.

Other guys will only be partial increases on the cap.

Im thinking the top end we could offer Winfield is around $2.1M-2.5M
Both first rounders each add about $1M to the cap
The next couple will add about 100K each.

Based on my calculations the Vikings, after Williams restructure, have enough money to sign all of their draft picks.

They may have to make a small maneuver or two once the season begins, but for now they will fine.

@Charley_Walters: Drafting 3 players in the 1st round, even though picks Nos. 23, 25 and 29, will cost the Vikings about $12 million in signing bonuses.

How is Kluwe not cut yet? I don't get it.

Because rookie mine camp hasn't even started yet. There's no point in making any type of move until they absolutely need to, and right now they don't need to make any type of move until June 1st.

You would actually be doing Kluwe a disservice by cutting him now. Let him workout with the team through minicamps and OTAs, because he'll at least have a team and facilities to workout at. If they release him no team is going to sign a 31 year old punter before training camp where they'd have to pay his roster bonus. If the team cut Kluwe now, he'd be a free agent until training camp if not longer.

I've added Lawrence Jackson's and Jacob Lacey's contracts to my spreadsheet and removed Nick Taylor from the roster.

I think I saw it a couple posts down but it might be worth mentioning in the op but the cap $ from the roster only uses the highest 51salaries.

Unless I am horribly mistaken.

I think I've got the spreadsheet updated with all of the undrafted guys as well as the contracts for Jackson and Lacey.

The rookies still haven't signed so, despite being at 90 players, we can technically sign contracts with 9 more players.

Figures and roster spreadsheet updated from the Thielen signing and the Kluwe release.

All of Kluwe's $1,450,000 comes off the books as none of it was guaranteed. It represents a cap savings of $1,045,000

EDIT: Sidenote - only two receivers on our roster are less than 6'0 tall.

The Vikings spread their money more evenly, divvying out $64,500 in bonuses to 15 of the 16 players they signed before rookie minicamp began. Here's a breakdown:

Zach Line, FB, Southern Methodist: $8,000 bonus.
Rodney Smith, WR, Florida State: $7,000 bonus.
Nathan Williams, LB, Ohio State: $7,000 bonus.
James Vandenberg, QB, Iowa: $5,000 bonus.
Nicholas Edwards, WR, Eastern Washington: $5,000 bonus.*
Marquis Jackson, DE, Portland State: $5,000 bonus.
Collins Ukwu, DE, Kentucky: $5,000 bonus.
Jerodis Williams, RB, Furman: $4,000 bonus.
Brandan Bishop, S, North Carolina State: $3,000 bonus.
Darius Eubanks, S, Georgia Southern: $3,000 bonus.
Mark Jackson, T, Glenville State: $3,000 bonus.
Anthony McCloud, DT, Florida State: $3,000 bonus.
Erik Highsmith, WR, North Carolina: $2,500 bonus.
Bradley Randle, RB, UNLV: $2,500 bonus.
Colin Anderson, TE, Furman: $1,500 bonus.

I'm assuming they all got future's contract bases?

NVM, maybe I should just read the article Wink

I've updated the spreadsheet and I'll work on updating the OP.
