Besides his $500,000 Bonus, Does his $4.7 million salary this year transfer into any extra cap space? Or does it give us a penalty?...Same w/ Wiley?
Does anybody know how much money we really have now? |

| Releasing Coakley freed up $2.9 million against the cap. We have more money to spend now. |

Man, Coakley was one of my favorites, eight years and he NEVER missed a workout, wow! So I'm still thinking like a fan. But here's some info on cap space for all you heartless ones out there :
The two sides were unable to agree on a restructured contract, forcing his release Tuesday and making him an unrestricted free agent. The Cowboys avoided paying Coakley $502,000 roster bonus, which was due Wednesday. They also saved about $1.8 million off the 2005 cap. Coakley will count $2.9 million in dead money in 2005 rather than his original cap figure of $4.7 million. |
