I haven't heard much discussion on these guys in the general draft talk thread so I thought I'd make a poll and generate discussion. I made the list pretty broad. If you had to take a pass rusher at #7, who would you take and why? How would you rank them as purely 3-4 OLB?

Jones is the only one I want, but I only watched a little bit of everyone.

Jordan for me

BUt he will never get to 7.

I do like Jones, still worried about him, if we were to trade back say 5 spots, then I could live with him there, as the extra picks would lessen the risk

For the record, Werner is not a 34 OLB, he will dominate as a 43 DE

Jordan or Mingo. Both are fluid explosive athletes with the ability to get to the QB.

How does that work?

Would rather not take a guy who is not only older than most prospects, but also has a well documented health issue that could cut his career very short.

The medical issue has been cleared up and he's not more than a year older than Jordan/Mingo. I'm not using several months against him. If he tanks his pro-day or gets flagged by the team doc then I will reconsider.

According to some reports. Without being an actual medical professional on the spot inspecting him you can never really know.

Spinal Stenosis does not just "go away" and the fact that the USC medical staff refused to clear him to play football still resonates.

Remember when DeQuan Bowers was "cleared" of his medical issues.

I also don't see the elite player that many people do; this scouting report espouses far better my thoughts on Jarvis;

Maybe he drops to #38 like Bowers Very Happy

I chose Mingo for talent sake but I could take Jordan as well if pass rusher is the pick

Fine I'll get on the Jordan bandwagon. I just wish we could FF three years and see him at 265 lbs. Nobody knows him better than Chip so they're selection will be telling. He showed up 248 at the combine but his playing weight was 225. There's no guarantee he can hold that weight thru a season.

Good man Dez, peer pressure and all that.

He should really be in teh 230s for my liking, he is tall, but really fast and if too heavy will lose all his explosiveness.

Thanks for your responses.

It was between Jordan and Mingo for me and I went with Mingo. I know he is raw but he's no more raw than Jordan is IMO. I just don't see any moves from Jordan and ALL of his sacks come from an outside pass rush. He simply can't disengage once blocked. Mingo has his flaws too but I think his speed rush is ELITE albeit inconsistent. He also has more strength and explosiveness to his game than Jordan does. I think Mingo is ahead in terms of pass rushing but Jordan is ahead in terms of coverage.

Here's a statistical breakdown of these guys for those interested.
