How many RT's do we need? I just read he signed a two year contract after visiting The Jags.

Good makes sense. We need competition at Rt, the more bodies the better and may the best man win.

The fact that we haven't restructured someone else to bring in Winston or Ryan Harris is a sign that they really Like Tom Compton in most experts eyes.

I read many articles that said signing these vet minimums who are likely just back ups on any team is a good sign for Comptons future and how they feel About him.

So if Compton doesn't win the job out of camp, expect at some point during the season for Compton to b starting and him to be our RT for the foreseeable future.

This one... this signing makes no sense. He stunk last year. We already signed Pashos and Trueblood to replace him. What's the point? Competition, as turtle said? I can't say that's the best move, in my opinion.

exactly, he's a utility man and just because someone is signed in April does not mean they make the team in September but you have to take 90 bodies to camp now,

Why not bring back you healthy starting RT from last year?

Because our cap space is rather limited and Polumbus was serviceable, at best.

thats fine we need OL as I said, they'd either be signing him or someone else before camp

Polumbus is way better then Pashos....and in my eyes identical to Trueblood good run blocker bad pass blocker but younger. I think the Compittion will be between Polumbus and Compton in camp....the rest are just camp bodies

never know he had a decent season in 2010 and 2011 which is why we tried to sign him before he went to the browns.

Just think if we had signed Pashos instead of him going to the browns, we'd still have our 2 draft picks we gave to the saints for Jamaal Brown and we'd have more cap space.

Redskins | Tom Compton could compete for RT job
Mon, 28 Jan 2013 13:40:35 -0800

Quote:
Washington Redskins OT Tom Compton could compete for the starting right tackle job next season if OTs Tyler Polumbus and Jammal Brown are not back. He could also serve as the swing tackle if he is not able to win a starting job.
