Same production as Barwin and like what 8 million less? These are the moves that should have been made for years. You add quality players to your core players. I like these low cost moves. They add players who can play.

He is not a starting caliber. That is why he is cheap.

I really like what Idzik has done so far! I just might get a blank jersey and put Idzik on the back. Nope! They'll find a way to screw up the best thing that's happened in many long years!

He's done great so far, yes... but I'm going to wait until the Revis and the Draft before I put his name on a jersey.

If we could somehow still get Victor Butler it would be amazing.

In whatever roundabout way it happened, the Jets managed to secure themselves an established pass-rusher who fit in line with Idzik’s razor-thin budget.

According to multiple reports, Barnes, 28, will earn roughly $4 million over three years, with a chance at multiple escalators that could bring the contract up to $6 million

If his one trick is something we were horrible last year I'm on board.

btw random but does anyone remember how many people on here were upset we passed on Melvin Ingram for Coples?

41 Tackles 1 FF 1 Sack 653 snaps
Ingram

vs

30 Tackles 0 FF 5.5 Sacks 583 snaps
Coples

Ingram was a lot better than his stats indicate...he had a ton of pressures and always around the ball...

With that said im very satisfiex with coples

Great for the price but we still need to draft a pass rusher in the first two rounds.

Realistically, if he's as bad against the run as some claim, would could rotate barnes and mcintyre and just put mcintyre in are more obvious running situations. Either way, a solid add.

If you could put them together you would have a pretty damn good outside linebacker. It sucks that they're both so one dimensional.

Hopefully they can teach each other a thing or two and they both turn into complete players. Laughing

Agreed. I do however hope we can add a player whose not just one dimensional.

McIntyre is a much better pass rusher than run defender. He's not good at all vs. the run.

His best attribute is his motor.

I'm okay with a one dimensional LB if he is a rush LB. I want the rest to be versatile thought because Brady and every other good QB is going to audible so they get mismatches if we are constantly switching backers or they will run no huddle and exploit that.

Good signing. We still need more LBs to replace the Jets losses. Barnes would be a good situational pass rushers in certain sets. In the end we would need 2 more outside LBs ( veteran and rookie) to compete for spots in training camp.
