Guard
43 Defensive End
Outside linebacker
Free safety
CornerBack
MEDIUM Priorities: (Team Need)
Right Tackle

Running back (feature and Change of Pace)
...Correct me on any mistakes please |

| you can scratch linebacker off the list, or put it much lower. |

Need #1 by far and away needs to be a pass rusher.
Each team in our division has multiple WRs that can ball and we can't field a single CB worth his salt. We have to get to the QB plain and simple.
Unless you want Manning, Rivers and yes Alex Smith putting up RECORD passing numbers against us we have to get pass rushers. I'm talking like 400-500yds+ a game and MULTIPLE TDs with our pathetic CBs and 0 rushers.
Our run defense is looking better this FA period, but now the focus needs to be on pass defense.
For what it's worth, this is not a condemnation of this offseason as it's really just begun. I actually approve of what's been transpiring, just that our #1 need is for the pass defense at this point. |

I know you don't care for Branch, but you'd really put SS as a Desperate Need at this point? |

Not counting on it obviously, but a lesser known guy on our roster that might fight for a spot is TE Mickey Shuler (Penn State). He was one of the better blocking TE's in his class and never put up big receiving numbers, but caught everything he had the opportunity and caught it cleanly. Sneaky athletic, put up big pro day numbers and PSU used him all over at TE/FB, like a H-back type.
EDIT: Just to reiterate:
| Quote: | Though his receiving statistics are not gaudy, Shuler is getting a serious look by NFL teams because of his strong blocking and underrated athleticism. His pro day amazed scouts as he put up numbers on par with those invited to the Combine. Look for him to be selected sometime Draft Saturday.
Analysis
Release: Not elite getting out of his stance, whether at H-back or in-line positions. One-speed runner who can challenge linebackers down the seam and get down the sideline if allowed to run free. Strong player with hands to get free from jam from SAM linebackers.
Hands: Solid receiver when ball is in his frame, most times catching the ball away from his frame even when facing the passer. Strong enough to win jump balls and make tough catches in traffic. Inconsistent adjusting to poor throws, however. Tracks ball over either shoulder.
Route running: Finds holes between and underneath linebackers. Mostly runs simple patterns as safety valve. Needs more experience running tighter patterns, but has the footwork and athletic to sink his hips, plant and drive off his foot.
After the catch: Not elusive after the catch but has enough straight-line speed to do more than move the chains. Runs tough, carries defensive backs and runs through arm tackles.
Blocking: One of the better blockers in this class. Strong edge blocker, seals off larger defensive ends by getting his hands inside and anchoring. Explodes into linebackers; moves feet to sustain until the play is away, and sometimes longer. Good flexibility to adjust to oncoming defenders, effective as moving tight end coming off the edge or eliminating backside chasers.
Intangibles: Durable, reliable performer with workmanlike attitude. Graduated in December with kinesiology degree. Good bloodlines with father a long-time NFL tight end. |
6-4 251. Like I said, I'm not expecting much but I just love lesser known guys who have the potential to come out of nowhere and battle for a spot. _________________

Yeah, that's my bad. I meant that as moderate. Good call. Branch will suffice but he can certainly be upgraded. _________________
