Green Bay receives a 5th round compensatory pick (#167, one of three 5th round comp picks: after Miami, before Baltimore.)

No other compensatory picks for the Packers.

First year with the new CBA..

I think contract isn't 99% of the formula anymore. Cartland Finnegan's jersey shore haircut got Tennessee a third.

Jeff Saturday is officially a bust.

Isn't it part to do with playing time right? Flynn didn't play last year.

In the old system, playing time was basically what decided which round a pick ended up in when it was on the boundary.

So theoretically Flynn's contract could have had him between a 4th and a 5th and his lack of play time knocked him down to a 5th.

Saturday doesn't factor in, having more than X amounts of years in (I think 10you is the line), IIRC.
Wrong. If you lose a player to free agency that has more then 10 years experience, the highest comp pick you can get is a 5th. Other then that, age has no factor in comp picks I beleive.

Definitely think the pick got docked because of this. From a pure salary standpoint, he was almost a sure thing to be a fourth round pick.

Same here. Find someone that's projected to go 4th-5th round or someone who is projected 5th-6th round for that extra 5th round pick I guess?

We lost 43.50 M worth and took in 7.75 M, only to get a 5th. Looks like we were a cut off right before the 4th. I think the rules may have changed, leaning more towards production than contract. The two guys that left didn't start much (Flynn was a backup, Wells got hurt) and Saturday made the Pro Bowl. I think Indy and NYG both got comp picks even though they took in more than they spent. That hints that it's more production heavy, as well. 2013: We root for Jennings, Walden, Crabtree, ect.

Pretty sure it's just Jennings and Walden. We had the opportunity to tender Crabtree as a RFA and chose not to.

Forgot he was an RFA. Still root for Crabtree, because he's awesome.

If we lose Brad Jones then you could add him with Jennings and Walden that would be 3 compensatory picks next season.
