The WR tweets from Irsay may be about Maclin

Hearing from a friend that the Irsay WR tweets were in regard to Maclin from Philly. That would be a really nice add for Indy if it happens.

Intrested to see the return, given that the Colts gave away their 2nd for Vontae Davis. Not that I thought we were getting a 2nd, but they overpaid for Vontae IMO so they may give us more than we expect for Maclin.

Would be hard to give up a lot for a player in his last year.

I asked the Colts forum what they thought.

Yea I'm not sure, I mean he's been near 1000 yards every year with inconsistent QB play and unlike Desean actually gets into the endzone...and is still young. It's not like that's the easiest to find....you see guys fail to do that every year that are expected to do well.

I don't hate Maclin, and actually really like him off the field, he has thus far not lived up to his billing as a stud Reciever, but has had a good career....at the very least a better one than some people like to give him credit for. He irks me at times, and I really would like to see if Chip can force his potential out of him since the more friendly Andy approach failed. But if we get good value for him with no guarantees that he will come back, I'm fine with moving him this year.

I'm sure they'd work out an extension.....I think one of Irsay's tweets said something that could be that...cap related or something....working it out

That means at most 9M per. But not all of that is guaranteed.

Market is set....if Howie wants to go after Vollmer it'll probably be a little less than that......but at this point Im starting to think we will be going OT in round 1 or 2 for sure.

Agreed. Looks like it will be a situation we have to monitor. If we're in negotiation, which is purely speculative at this point, we're not just going to give him away.
