I would have thought he would have been one of the hottest OTs in the free agent market.

Have we heard anything about him?

Jake Long is holding everything up. He's the #1 target, the market will get set by him.

Which is kind of ironic since Vollmer is a better player.

And pretty odd considering Bushrod was signed first.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up signing a Talib like deal in hopes of a bigger payday next off season.

I won't disagree, but ultimately Vollmer will get less. So teams interested in Sea Bass are waiting to see what Long gets before making their offer.

The Bears and Bushrod were the worst kept secret in free agency after we brought in his OL coach Aaron Kromer to be the OC.

I guess the Long theory makes sense since the 2nd tier of OT was established by Beatty and the Bushrod and Cherilus signed.

These tackles are looking for AT LEAST $7-8 Million a year. Even after Long signs, I don't know if the Pats will want to pay that much for Vollmer.

Vollmer and Long are represented by the same agency. One domino won't fall without the other. The agency probably views long as the more valuable and marketable and therefore wants to maximize his deal to set the mark for Vollmer.

Well Long just signed with the Rams. 4 years, avg $8.5 Million a year. Guessing Vollmer should demand at least $7 million.
