Desmond Trufant in round 1 bandwagon!

Why he fits: Corner is a need. Talib is only a one year contract. Dennard's legal status is unknown. Ras "IR" Dowling is injury prone and can never finish a season. Arrington is a slot corner and would prefer to keep him there.

Trufant is my favorite corner in this draft, other than Millner who will be long gone by the time the Patriots are on the clock. He's a scrappy, physical corner, the in your face type CB. He's versatile, can play either outside or in the slot. He has good size, fast(4.38 40), and has great short area quickness. I like this fit a lot.

I'm driving this bandwagon. I was planning on making this thread later today.

Best CB in the draft.

I expect that we're going to end up moving down. But it depends whose available.I would take Rhodes over him though for CBs.

For some reason, I'm not enamored with Trufant.

I agree, his tape is very meh - although he was outstanding during the Senior Bowl week and had a better combine than expected.

+1 for me on Hunter, but he will prolly be had in the early to midd second round if we are drafting need and it'd have to be a corner, my money and my Bandwagon is for Xavior Rhodes.

I think there's a better chance Trufant goes top 15 than that he falls to 29. I think Banks and Taylor would be the two CBs possibly available that the Pats have interest in.

What don't you like about him?

Great athlete. Great size for a CB. I love his skill and technique. I think he's one of those guys who can succeed in both man and zone. He plays with that confidence and scrappiness that you have to love.

Easily the #2 corner in this draft. Don't even think he's that far behind from Millner.

I don't think the value is their at the end of the 1st. They're other guys that could go way later that arent much of a drop off from Trufant.

I think those are qualities he showed at the Senior Bowl and who knows, maybe that's the real Trufant. I'm just wondering why you didn't always see that high effort at Washington.
