I know he has a lot of developing to do, but how do you think he will do in Marty's system?

I think he's going to fail miserably and get traded next year for a late round pick

I think he will eventually pan out. I don't know if he will break out this season, but he should show some signs.

Let's compare rookie seasons:

Player A: 11 G, 21 receptions, 252 yards, 3 TD
Player B: 10 G, 22 receptions, 283 yards, 2 TD

Guess who each player is.

he got open a few times down field for a td and sanchez couldnt hit him, he was a raw rookie.... the problem is we live in a day and age where if a player doesnt work out his rookie year we lable him a bust.

this kid has supserstar talent, and a ton of speed (desperately needed) give him some time... he can make the spectacular catch which tells me his hands will get better... he will be a good player this year, and in 2014 break out into a great player

LAY OFF MY BOY OPTIMUS PRIME lol

I'm kinda split on him. Normally Marty's WR's are shifty route runners, Hill is not. But Marty also loves deep plays , and Hill's speed could be perfect for that.

His primary functions in our offense would be keeping the safeties playing deep since he can stretch the field and probably jump balls given his frame. We do still need shifty WRs who can make something happen in the space underneath hence why I would love Tavon Austin, but we probably dont have the luxury of a pick like that.

Everyone knew he was gonna be raw with some time to develop he should be fine as a 2nd WR

And to his defense he was able to get open later in the year but Sanchez just didnt want to throw it too him, and then McElroy was scared to let the ball fly so that also hurt his stats some.

He is an extremely raw player; we drafted him based solely on his measurables, not his game tape as a WR (as a blocker I'm sure there's a ton of video available).

He literally had something like 46 career receptions in 3 seasons I think. It's going to take time for him to realize his full ability (what that is remains to be seen), and anyone pronouncing judgement on him after one season is pulling the trigger way early.

True enough and i hope we give him a couple of years to develope; but he did dropped a lot of passes last year. I don't know if that's because he was inexperienced or that he just can't catch. I think back to Lam Jones, fast as lightning, couldn't catch and never really learned.

Player C:
Year 1 - 8 G, 3 receptions, 59 yards

Drafted in the 2nd round

My thoughts exactly. While I hate hill for this system, Marty likes to stretch the field which could have Hill's name written ALL OVER IT.

I guess we'll see when the season starts...right now I'm sure he's expected to compete for the #2 spot

Still very much a project and he "doesn't fit the system" only in the sense that so long as he continues to be an unrefined and raw player he won't be able to do anything.

You guys can't compare Hill and Thomas. Does Hill have upside like him? Yes. But Hill is better suited for a vertical scheme just like Thomas is; not a WCO.
