Kyle Arrington $4M a year, Talib $5M a year... something is wrong here.

Talib's 5 mil is fully guaranteed. Arrington gets like 2 mil guaranteed.

Love this deal. It just isn't smart to give someone like Talib a long term contract(surprised the Pats did offer him 5 years) but we get him for another year and he's going to be motivated to get that big contract.

Re-sign Vollmer, finish things with Abraham or Freebey and I'm happy with this off season.

Was just going to say. Arrington, Talib, Wilson, Amendola, Washington. That's got to be at least 15m+.

It is tough to know. Some reports had us at 19m before bradys restructure, which added 7m. We'll need 4m for draft picks.

In terms of money available for free agents, we could have anywhere from $3 million to $7m. Fells is going to cut at some point, which is another million.

I think they should pay Volmer and the cheaper of Abraham / Freeney, and then chill until the draft.

Washington and Talib are 6.5 together, Amendola and Arrington are likely both in the 2-3 million range because of low base salaries initially, and we don't know Wilson's number but it's hard to imagine it's much more than the 1.5 he got last year. So I'm guessing they still have 8-12 million left with Brady's restructure.

big decision; do you run the risk of picking up lloyds contract for 2013 at a reduced price? or do you cut bait and allocate that cap along with approximately 1-3 million additional dollars in cap space to give emmanuel sanders an offer that is front loaded in 2013 that the steeler wouldnt bother to match? its tricky when you figure in about 3-4 million for rookie contracts and a dwight freeney signing or vollmer re-signing. pats are going cornerback/defensive back or offensive line with their first draft pick.

I'd take Lloyd over Sanders. He is better, knows the offense, wont cost a 3rd round pick.

yeah its looking like lloyd, if he take a big enough salary cut, will be back because logistically it gives the pats a somewhat reliable wide out option and more flexibility to maneuver with the cap for maybe one more free agent signing

This web site seem to be the most current concerning the cap.

Seems right on par with what I had projected earlier. Cap is $123, which leaves them $16 million minus the cap hit of Wilson, Arrington, Jones and Koutouvides. Taking off the four lowest guys (worth $2 million) and using reasonable estimates for what we know these players were paid to replace them, I'll stick by that $8-12 million figure in cap space.

Does your 8-12 include 4m for draft picks?

No, the rookie pool isn't included. Assuming some of that money will come from cuts, and the top two picks will take up the biggest chunk. They can always drop a couple contracts too, such as Brian Waters'.
