My understanding is the Patriots also offered Talib a longer-term deal, and he had interest from 3 other clubs. He chose the one-year deal.

The Patriots' long-term offer to Talib was for five years, and based on how the market was going. One-year deal made way more sense for him.

Per source with knowledge, Talib passed on two other multi-year offers to stay in New England on one-year contract

1 year? Good news, but that's interesting - there can't have been a lot of interest out there.

Good.

I just wish we got one of the other free agents in for 3 years. Now in a year we're back to square 1...

Well, if he sucks or gets in trouble, we have no worries. I dont mind it all. Like a franchise, but I imagine much cheaper.

BEST CASE FRICKING SCENARIO!

and how many of of legitimately penciled this scenario in? way, way less than 1% of the human population. Laughing this is a triumph imo, great off-season so far for the pats, and happy to have talib's services on the pats for just one more year. Smile

The best part about this is you know he'll be motivated.

Awwwwwwwwwwww yiss! Now, resign Vollmer long term, and I will consider this a good FA.

Because the Pats do nothing if not attempt to please me.
