The Patriots made an offer to Woodhead, but the Chargers simply made a better one. Eight teams showed varying degrees of interest.

I guess they want him to be Darren Sproles. I don't see them getting anywhere near that sort of production from him, but good luck to him anyhow.

I had no idea he was a Free Agent.

Wow, it sure is going to look different in New England without him and Welker.

Superb Owl!

But seriously, I really like this signing. They clearly don't like using Mathews in a third down role despite the fact that is what he was pegged as being special at (before the draft) so this makes that easier to take.

Very good third down back. His presence in New England was superfluous was the presence of the younger and cheaper Shane Vareen. I wish him the best of luck in San Diego.

They don't need that production, they just need that type of player. He should fit in well.

I think he will do well there, more productive than he was in NE with a larger and more stable role in the backfield....lol

More likely they want him to be what Ronnie Brown was last year. Mathews is very poor as a pass blocker, but so Woodhead should complement him very nicely.
