There aren't too many questions. Roach will play MLB and Maiava will play one of the OLB spots.

Simple actually.

Thanks for answering my question...

So can we show any 3-4 looks at this point with them? Rolling Eyes

Too early to say. We might give some looks, but I don't see us being anything other than a 4-3 defense primarily.

That's kinda what I'm thinking too. Don't get me wrong, I really like the signings but it feels like we went all in with base 4-3. I'm surprised considering we could have literally gone anywhere with this defense being a blank slate.

Now I know it's early in the process, but I've been really anticipating the FA period to see which direction we go (as this obviously determines where we go in the draft)

I read Allen said the scheme will be determined by the players so i guess they saw better value with 43 players than 34.

We dont have the numbers at the linebacking position. I read where Roach was signed to be the MLB. Now if we brought in Connor and signed him I would say of course we could go 34 on occasion. But it looks like once we signed Roach we passed on Connor. That is pretty telling. So right now I would say no to major 34 looks. But that is not taking into account who we draft and bring in as UDFA's.

We gotta be patient on this one. Not a Raider fan strong suite, I know. Laughing

Love this pick up. Kid can ball and you know hes going to be a solid leader for a defense that really doesnt have one after spending all those years under Briggs and Urlacher. Still wouldnt mind Dan Connor being signed. No depth and he can still stuff the run.

Connor is already back on the free agent recruiting trail. I think that ship may have sailed.

Saw he left with no deal. He may be hunting down a starting job and in a week if he doesnt get that give him a call.

Yup. Because pickins are starting to get slim. And the big money isn't there any more.

Roach primarily played SAM in Chicago but did fill in solidly for Urlacher when he was hurt. He'd be a better option at MLB than Burris right now though. That dude had a hard enough time playing weakside.

He said in an interview that it was going to be a "wait and see" type thing as to where he played. And like Maiava he is willing to play wherever he is needed.

Would love Daryl Smith to come in and battle for one of the OLB spots and provide depth...LBs would be set outside of late round UDFA flyers...
