He was pro-bowl material and was very good at run stopping/coverage/ and turn overs and was probably top 5 FS last year. With the market slowing down how would you guys feel if he came in possibly a nice deal at FS? he is a 3-4 FS and would make a ton of sense in a hungry needed D.

I'd love it if we could sign him.

No interest. We need to get younger, especially in the secondary. If we do sign him, it better be for a 1 or 2 year deal so we can develop a rookie behind him.

well yeah. Definitely for a cap friendly affordable deal. We can't splurge on anyone

he might be the bet we can afford, and he's an upgrade over what we've had the last 4 years

We can draft someone in the 2nd who's both more talented and cheaper.

yeah, maybe he had a solid season last year. Easily better than any of our FS's since ST

Quote:
LOS ANGELES, CA–(Marketwire – Jan 16, 2013) – Hot on the heels of a record year with the Arizona Cardinals, all-star safety Kerry Rhodes (www.kerryrhodes.com) scored a major victory by being included on the 2012 Pro Football Focus (PFF) All-NFC West Team. The honorary “draft” celebrates Kerry’s best year as a leading NFL safety, having broken up six passes and nabbing four interceptions during his 13 games as a starter.

As a key member of the Cardinals, Kerry Rhodes has proven that he is committed to improving his performance on and off the field. The bar has been set high for the 2013 upcoming season, but Rhodes is no stranger to a challenge. All eyes are on Arizona and fans are very eager to see what he will do next.
Espn has him down as having 11 passes defensed, not 6

hell no! he had his best year last year

2 FF
4 ints
65 tackles

Cardinals released FS Kerry Rhodes.
The move saves Arizona $6 million against the cap. Rhodes was entering the final year of his deal. In December, the two sides were even talking about a two-year extension. Rhodes had a phenomenal season in 2012, as he was stout versus the run and in coverage. However, he turns 31 years old in August, and the veteran purge around the league continues. It's a buyer's market for defensive backs. Mar 13 - 5:08 PM

Best FA available and very underrated. If he wants to contend than we could be good for him ...I hate Jim but he fits alot into our scheme and would be a huge upgrade.

Would you rather have Rhodes / 2nd rd corner or Talib / 2 rd FS. I'd rather have Talib / 2 rd FS.

I rather have Talib and Rhodes and a second round CB or FS.

same with me. We need the best talent we can get in FA and in the draft in the secondary. If we could pull it off, I would want Talib, Winfield a FS like Rhodes, Lynch or Huff and then we draft the best DB we can in round 2 and 3 also.

Be realistic guys. We can't afford all that.

last year was not Kerry Rhodes best year as a pro, but it was a good year for him and certainly better than anything we've seen from the position in 5 years.

2006-2010 were better years.

I like that its a buyers market for DBs. I'm glad we are being patient. I hope we can get Talib and a FS like Rhodes, Lynch or Huff

we have no clue what the market for Winfield and these safeties will be. It's a buyers market, there are more decent DBs available than teams that are willing to give them good deals. That works in our favor
