Still want Mantha...lol

He was projected anywhere from 10-15. Not sure why he is falling

Because he doesn't skate fast enough.

Eh. His skills are amazing enough. I will take a little less speed

Quote:
Anthony Mantha brings all the physical traits a scout can ask for: size, smooth, coordinated skating and strength. You could group Mantha in with a few other names like Alexsander Barkov and Seth Jones whose freakish athleticism would see them suceed in almost any sport. Athleticism is not all Mantha brings to the table however - an innate ability to read the play from the perimeter, soft hands and an elite shot have helped Mantha cement his status as a 1st round talent early in his draft year.

Some things Mantha needs to work on are his compete level without the puck, which is an issue on the backcheck and his physicality. When a player with a big strong frame like Mantha doesn't use his size on the boards consistently it raises a red flag.

Seems like more about his lack of physical play

Ive read up on it. Supposed to be a couple really good talented kids in it but overall depth is lacking

This is a year where second rounders carry more value than normal due to the depth of the draft

Yea everything I have read has been great. His knocks are coachable stuff IMO.

You cant coach his instincts to put the goal in net

What does the number of rounds have to do with it?

Just pointing out the fact someone with more knowledge of the draft clearly disagrees with you.

2013 NHL draft lacks depth of talent

Quote:
The 2013 draft is not as strong or as deep as we first thought, said one scout, echoing the thoughts of many others. Its a deep top 10 and an OK first round, but I dont see a lot of depth. Is it deeper than 2012? Im not so sure.

That link did not show your quote and scouts who actually scout for draft are the ones saying it is weak as the quotes I posted show.

Take away the first eight or 10 picks and youre looking at guys who can contribute on the third and fourth lines, not the first line.

Interesting fact on Mantha

Quote:
His grandfather is four-time Stanley Cup champion Andre Pronovost -- he played 556 games for Montreal, Boston, Detroit and Minnesota between the 1956-57 and 1967-68 seasons.

Another good read on him

Read, you'll find it.

and no, your statement is incorrect. Your link didn't show anythin different than mine did.

Also, next time you ask for a link and I don't provide it. Know why. I always said you will just come up with some silly excuse why you are right and the link isn't. I will tell you that you can find a link that says anything on net and you will say something stupid claiming it proves yours correct and everyone else wrong.

Why go through that? You don't get links for a reason. You will never admit when you are wrong. I don't know if you are or not this time. Don't really care, but it was a great example and a fully humorous exchange knowing what was coming. Thanks for the laughs Laughing
