A surprising move Wednesday was the release by the Ravens of safety Bernard Pollard.

Surely this is the type of guy the Bengals could use alongside Nelson ?
I 'd be getting the guy over for an interview pretty damn quick.

Any other takers ?

What he said. Would like to sign Pollard to play next to Nelson...

Orlovsky has too much experience here. Manziel doesn't stand a chance.

Absolutely. Also, keeps him from injuring our QB.

Double whammy for the Ravens. Cut him, then try to block him twice each year. Seems like the perfect match for Nelson too.

I don't understand why a guy that's going to be on his 4th team in 6 years is so popular. Must be a reason he keeps getting let go...

His mouth. Didn't he and Reed start the mutiny over practicing in pads last year?

Pollard or Huff would help us though. Pollard would give us the much needed enforcer we all hoped Mays would be. Huff would provide much better coverage thatn what we currently have.

Lets be real, anyone we sign at this point would be awesome.

Wallace Gilberry went from the Giants to Chiefs to Bucs to us in the same span...

I think that's a little different. Gilberry was an UDFA. Those teams cut him probably without ever giving him a chance. Pollard is a former 2nd round pick, has started since year 2, and has had plenty of time to show what he's made of. If he is actually good as people say he is, i maintain that other teams would try harder to retain him.

From what i'm hearing, the negatives of his mouth outweigh the positives of his play. I'll pass. Let him be someone else's problem.

Fair enough. Would be nice though to have a true enforcer back there that actually lands devastating hits on opponents and not our own guys (cough*Taylor Mays*cough)...

Oh i agree. Seems like Bengals fans have been harping for a safety for over a decade. And i think Pollard would play well. If i'm the Bengals though, i'm hesitant to sign him because of the reputation that follows him. They have a pretty good locker room right now, and that guy could edge things the wrong way, ala the Chad and Housh days.
