Filed to ESPN: Broncos in serious talks, trying to hammer out an agreement with Patriots WR Wes Welker. Decision expected today.

The main card that the Patriots have over Welker is Tom Brady... the Broncos have close to the same level of a QB in Peyton Manning which could be enough to draw the slot machine away from New England.

The Patriots reportedly made a low offer to Wes Welker, low enough to make Welker shutdown talks with the Patriots since yesterday.

Wow. Can't say I like it one bit, anything that makes Manning's job any easier....

Wow....well darn.

I'd better go those words of mine in the oven if I'm gonna have to eat them.

I really am surprised they're looking to demote Decker...unless Welker is just to replace Stokley. But that would be a surprising investment for a third WR.

Confusing.

If it's elsewhere, then I hope it's $10-11M Laughing

I believe this is agent posturing. Not sure how the Broncos can come close to matching a deal we could give to Welker. Is he really going to leave NWE just to stick it to us?

This is probably Mannings last year. Might as well go balls to the wall.

Brady's chemistry made Welker good. I don't see him having near the same level of production with Manning.

One place I didn't want to see him go to. Denver is a good fit for him. Thomas, Decker, and Welker in the slot. Allows Decker to be a true #2. Mannings going to love Wes.
