Had 11 sacks for the Chargers two years ago, Jets will probably use him in a similar fashion of 3rd down specialist.

Always wondered when he was healthy why the Chargers put in Travis LaBoy instead of him...

Should see some Orlovsky vs Manziel this week in the battle of "who's less aware of their surroundings"

Orlovsky has too much experience here. Manziel doesn't stand a chance.

Nice signing, if he can get going again, otherwise solid depth.

Well, not making excuses, but even though Barnes is a million times a better pass rusher than LaBoy, the later was actually much better on run defense....
Something Barnes has never been able to do...

That's why he's a specialist, and not a starter.

Honestly, aside from the Ravens game, he was non existent. Not too mad about losing him right now.

Well, he only played 170ish snaps last season, so hard to make much of an impact. He might be only a one-trick pony, but that one trick (rushing the passer) is one that we haven't had from the OLB position since John Abraham.

The reason he didn't play is because he wasn't generating pressure and is a joke against the run.

Neither was Shaun Phillips and that didn't stop Pagano from keeping Ingram and Barnes on the bench. Just like how Bigby was stinking it up and Taylor was sitting on the bench. Or how Cason and Jammer were stinking it up and Wright didn't get playing time until Jammer got injured; then he went right back to Jammer even though Wright played much better. Also Takeo Spikes struggling in coverage instead of seeing what Mouton can do...

I like the signing. He had the same amount of sacks as our starting LBs last season and played a lot less.

That's a sweet deal for the Jets.
