I like it. A chance for him to compete for the starting safety job. As long as he can hit I'm fine.

Yea, draft a SS and have them compete

Id love to add Jonathan Cyprien (though he could play either), Duke Williams, or Matt Elam at some point.

I'm all about competition..he'll compete for SS against Matt Elam (wishful thinking).

Depending on the money, I don't mind the signing. Chung showed flashes in New England, let's just see if he can stay healthy. Hopefully re-uniting with Kelly does something for him. We're extremely thin at the safety position so no complaints here.

Chung put in work at Oregon. Got hurt after a great 2011 start, never got back to that level. Hopefully Chip gets Oregon/2011 Chung back.

Like it, now we need a Safety that can push Allen and Chung.

This. I hope the contract is structure in such away that he could be cut this season without losing much.

Pat Chung's contract with the Eagles includes $6.25M guaranteed over 2013 and 2014.
Quote:
Officially, it's a three-year deal worth $10 million and includes a $2.85 million roster bonus. It confirms that the Eagles fully expect Chung to step in and start for the foreseeable future. They can safely take the plunge because coach Chip Kelly was on staff at Oregon while Chung was there.

A little more guaranteed then I like, but I like the deal. I like Chung since he was coming out. Hopefully he can start balling again.
