Well in this scenario, we would probably let McQ and Breno go to open up cap space. I feel they are replaceable with Albert and a drafted rookie.
How much do you think he'd command per year? 8M? The question is just being able to keep him signed long term with contracts for Okung, Sherman, Earl, Kam, and Browner coming up.

One of the reasons Albert is being shopped is because he doesn't want to play RT and most expect the Chiefs to go OT in Round 1. So I doubt Seattle would be in the mix as Albert doesn't want to play RT and I doubt we want Okung playing RT either. I still think Winston makes a lot of sense and we wouldn't have to give up our 2nd round pick to sign him. You cant throw away the draft with trades, we still need young players to help this team and I don't want to be waiting until day 3 to see the Hawks draft a player.

Winston is going to sign with Mia, SD or Philly. He has meetings lined up all this week.

Our best chance of getting someone will be Vollmer to play RT. But chances are we are done spending money.

I thought he'd re-sign with the Patriots unless somebody offered him considerably more money somewhere else.

I was just taking a look at NFL.com's list of best FA still available and a couple of names stuck out at me.

Antoine Winfield - I think he could absolutely play the nickle and he's still a terrific run defender. He may be like 8 inches shorter than everyone else in the secondary but I still like him as a player.

Sedrick Ellis - Coach Carroll should be pretty familiar with this guy and maybe he can turn his career around. I think he deserves a second chance in this league on a 1-year deal.

Michael Boley - Inconsistent but he has the size/speed ratio that we look for at LB.

Any other names you guys are looking at? I think we can address OG in the draft and LB. I didn't add Winston to the list because he's been discussed. These are just guys I think could be signed to bargain basement deals to compete for a spot in camp.

I was thinking about that as well. Significant upgrade on Branch, but does he fit scheme wise?

Also would be a big fan of giving Sedrick Ellis a shot, theres some real talent there. Thats the one and only position I have some real worry about, SLB will get sorted one way or another but I dont want our DL getting gashed like last year.

For not much money either, I think he'll play more more in buffalo next to Kyle Williams probably though. Too bad, hope he has a good year.

Yea, he was underrated while here. Not sure why we didn't bring him back for that price.

Great price for his talent, however probably more than we wanted to spend.

*Seahawks re-sign Clinton McDonald, restricted free agent*

http://blogs.seattletimes.com/seahawks/2013/04/03/seahawks-re-sign-clinton-mcdonald-restricted-free-agent/

Quote:
Defensive tackle Clinton McDonald has signed his one-year tender the Seahawks had offered him and will return to the team as the backup nosetackle.

McDonald has played two seasons in Seattle, coming to the Seahawks in the 2011 trade for cornerback Kelly Jennings. With three years of NFL experience, McDonald was a restricted free agent after Seattle tendered him a one-year qualifying offer of $1.3 million.

OH Yeah!!!!

Breno is costing us 4.5M (750k dead money) this year and Clabo would be cheaper and better. We did bring him in last off season but he decided to resign with ATL before he got here.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather sign Winston than Clabo. Assuming we can have any of the 3 for a similar price tag. I'll take Clabo over Breno to be sure however
