Bummed we lost him. Glad we didn't give him All-Pro money for one great half of a season. _________________

I'm guessing he was looking for a lot more than we wanted to pay, which I don't blame him. Curious to see the numbers. Either way, I always liked Ellerbe and will miss him here. _________________

So glad we didn't overpay him. Now they can find a better replacement(s) in this stacked ILB draft class and re-sign Reed. _________________

5 years, $35m. A bit too rich for me. As much as I'll miss him, I'm glad Ozzie didn't overpay. _________________

6 a year was as high as I wanted to go and even that would have been pushing it IMO. _________________

I agree that Ellerbe has seemingly priced himself out of staying in Baltimore. That sucks, but that's the way it goes. Hope he does well in Miami (and knocks the Pats of their AFC East perch).
Draft any one of Te'o, Minter, Brown, Ogletree and then follow it up with someone like Bostic, Reddick or Kiko Alonso a couple of rounds later.
That would make me happy. The Ravens can't get starters for each position they need this year anyway, so why not focus on getting ILB set for a good long while? _________________

Teams love to overpay our LBs. How'd Thomas and Hartwell fare after leaving? haha _________________

What are we going to do with that cash now?
Hopefully, we can find some Jacoby Jones/Corey Graham like steals on the market. _________________

Horribly overpaid.
I guess this means we'll be looking at Maualuga increasingly. |

You complained about Ravens' fans bashing Kruger, and then bash this signing. Ellerbe is maybe 1 million/year overpaid. He's a better player than Kruger making less money. _________________

This was a bit shocking to me. Ellerbe to Miami, Kruger to Cleveland, Cary Williams to who knows where, Anquan to SF, possibly Reed gone.
The Steelers lost several key players also. Its an AFC North shake up. |

Rather have Kruger at that $ than Ellerbe at this type of money. I'll take the pass rusher over the ILB. |

Or take one this year, then sign a veteran stopgap, and then take one next year in a draft as stacked, if not more, as this year at ILB with prospects such as Shayne Skov, CJ Mosley, and Andrew Jackson.

I can think of a few guys affordable enough to sign:
1. Ed Reed
2. Bryant McKinnie
3. Danario Alexander
4. Bradie James _________________

| Just the price of winning the Super Bowl, all your FA are going to get better deals from other teams overvaluing them. You guys can do better than Ellerbe at ILB |
