| Quote: | ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Dolphins are negotiating a five-year contract with free agent Mike Wallace.
Schefter describes the deal as "very, very likely to get done." So we may not see the Vikings jump into the Wallace sweepstakes after all. Schefter reported that this is a "match waiting to happen," and the money will be "well north" of $10 million per year. Appearing on NFL Live Tuesday, Schefter also confirmed that the Dolphins are in hot pursuit of free agent TE Jared Cook.

| Quote: | Lions signed CB DeAngelo Hall, formerly of the Redskins.
Hall, 29, was just released by Washington on Monday. Detroit is in desperate need of cornerback help, and they wasted no time in picking one up before the market opened. Hall was set to earn $8 million with the Redskins in 2013, but he'll be lucky to get half that from the Lions. It's unclear what this means for the future of free agent CB Chris Houston in Detroit, but Hall doesn't solve a lot of problems. The Lions need more on the back end.

| Quote: | Vikings re-signed RT Phil Loadholt to a multi-year contract.
The Bears tried swooping in on Loadholt; GM Phil Emery may now turn his attention to Jake Long, or perhaps more affordable Sam Baker or Jermon Bushrod. At 6-foot-8, 343, Loadholt's return is a huge plus for Adrian Peterson. Loadholt recently turned 27 and graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 4 run-blocking offensive tackle in 2012. He's missed one start in his four-year career.

I'd be heated if we released Palmer and replaced him with a poor man's Palmer. _________________

| Quote: | Updating a previous item, the Lions have not signed free agent CB DeAngelo Hall.
A Washington-area reporter jumped the gun, and Detroit beat writers have shot down the rumor and labeled it as "false." Hall will go back to the open market with all of the other recently released veteran cornerbacks.

I'd pretty pleased if it meant we saved $$$$$. Neither chump is ever brining us to a Superbowl anyway. _________________

Fitz getting release is great news to me. We can pay him cheaper than Palmer or Bills might want to trade up to get their QB Geno smith. |

Fitzpatrick is absolute garbage. The second sentence is the better news.

They kinda have to trade up now, if they want Geno Smith. At #8 how can it be risked that he will be there when they pick? Of course if they are not after him it is moot. And whether or not they trade with us or higher than us is also a big ? mark. |

The exact numbers are not released yet, but the guaranteed figure is around $30 million.
