IMO Lombardi knows his stuff when it comes to current players and signing Free agents. He is showing it this offseason with the help of building our front7 mostly lol

His weakness is the draft and it seems like Banner and Haslem have done a good job bring in players to help shore up Bardi's weakness

Butler would be a nice get as he has alot of potential and the steelers are interested in him as well. does anyone else think signing him makes Jabaal Sheard even more of a possibility to be traded

I think Sheard can still be utilized in the pass rush game (even in the 3-4) and would be silly to just give up on him. I would put him in a back up roll, let him develop and see what you have with him.

im kinda on the same page with you.

I can see butler being a starter at the OLB and someone like Sheard can be used primarily as a pass rusher. I think someone like Butler allows us to slowly develop Sheard as an OLB.

I like Kruger and butler as our starting OLB and Sheard and Groves as our pass rusher backers and back ups

I think he would be a great complement to Kruger. Kruger is a beast on passing downs, and Butler is a beast against the run. The other thing I like about this is if we sign him and draft a corner, we can look to address either side of the ball with our 3rd rounder. How much money is Butler looking to get and for how many years? Where are experts putting his dollar value and contract length?

I hope you're not talking about Victor Butler being a beast against the run. He's absolutely terrible against the run. Thought, when we drafted him, he would replace Spencer. He has good speed, athletic ability, and some pass rush skills, but he could never put it together. Dallas was more confident in Alex Albright. Don't pay him much. He will disappoint you.

Is that why butler played twice as many snaps?
