| Is Sam Shields worth trading a 2nd? |
| Yes, he's played well so far and he's better than anyone we've got. |

I know trading draft picks isn't typically thought of very highly (and I'm generally not a fan), but when you've at least seen what a player can do, it's a bit more palatable. Green Bay put a 2nd round tender on Sam Shields. It's a high price, but not a ridiculous one, I don't think. Is it worth considering?
We don't have any high caliber DBs on the roster at this point, with the release of Gamble. I think Shields is better than any CB we currently have. However, giving up a 2nd round pick is a bit pricey and do we have the cap space to make it feasible to sign him to a long term deal?
What do you think, Panther Nation, would you rage if they made the deal or would you be cool with it? _________________

He's definitely not worth trading a 2nd round pick for.
I'd rather us start Josh and Josh and resign Munnerlyn than get Shields. |

a 2nd rounder for Shields? I must have missed the film on this kid??? Also, havent we traded enough draft picks away?? I wouldnt mind trading picks away for a sure fire CB, Sherman, Revis someone of that talent level. Not for a guy in Green Bay thats not even their best CB. _________________ "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood

We did consider him a couple years ago.. for about umm three days:
Carolina Panthers
He was claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers on September 4, but was waived on September 7. _________________

Don't see the big deal about Stevie Brown. He's a solid safety, better than Harookie, but he's average at best, and just happened to be in the right place at the right time for a lot of those interceptions. He's average in coverage, weak in run support, just has a little of that ballhawk gene in him. We can do much better.
As for Shields, the 2nd round tender was used because nobody is giving that up for him. He's played pretty well, but he has a long way to go before he solidifies himself as a #1 corner, which is what you better be getting if you give up a 2nd round pick. _________________

Dave Gettleman arrives lacking a 3rd so trading an additional 2nd Round Pick doesn't seem logical. Given the rookie wage structure, you can add a CB in Round 2 & pay him a very affordable contract to become a starter. To build a roster, you must Draft Players. _________________ I'd Select Ziggy Ansah 1st Overall |

Not a huge fan of "trading" for RFA, unless its the perfect situation. Let's draft a younger, cheaper option if we are thinking CB. _________________
