Personally i like his play and think that the injury history could help the panthers with signing him and would allow the panthers to fill other holes on the roster. |
He'll probably be looking for LaRon Landry money (6 mil/year), lowest I could see would be 5 mil/year. I'd rather give him that than have given Landry 6, but we'd probably be really cutting things tight, and I don't know that I'd be okay with using whatever cap space we can muster on a guy who has only played 19 games the last 2 years. |
That number is to high for a guy like you said has barely played a full season in the past 2 years. I think he should be looking at around 3-3.5 mil a year bc of his injury concerns with possibility to make around 6 mil with incentives. The panthers let hurney destroy the cap and hold the panthers hostage to aging veterans and overpaying not to lose young talent. _________________

Smart players and smart agents are playing "get in where you fit in" now, to make sure they have a chair to sit in. The music has stopped. |
Now is when the smart teams start to sign players on the cheap. _________________

If the recent Panther history of FA is any indication, we are not a smart team and won't be doing that. Would be nice though cause this is usually the best time to make moves. _________________

We hardly have any money to spend. We shouldn't judge Gettleman on this. _________________

And, unfortunately, they're still hamstrung this season (and possibly to some degree next) by the previous administration. _________________

Looks like he ended up staying in Detroit for 2 years and 9.45 million. _________________

I would have preferred him to Florence, but neither were too hope inspiring. _________________

Louis Murphy is talking to the Giants LOL
We're talking to Chris Williams and Kevin Boothe, both potential guards and Williams plays tackle as well IIRC.
We also optioned the last two years of Tolbert's contract... $1m this year, $2.3m in 2014, $2.4m in 2015. Sign of things to come regarding D-Will or... ? _________________

I get so frustrated watching him run the ball.
And I don't wanna hear about his game against the elite Saints D in WEEK 17. _________________

| Panthers11 wrote: | | I really regret the D-Will signing.... | The Williams contract wasn't a problem. Frankly, the Stewart contract wasn't a problem, either. It's having both of them together that is the problem. If they were going to keep Stewart around, they shouldn't have signed Williams long term. If they wanted to keep Williams long term, they shouldn't have given a long term contract to Stewart. _________________
