That was quick, the Ravens got a good value back since teams around the league knew they are expected to release Boldin after he refused to take a pay-cut.

Vikings had offered a seventh-round pick for Anquan Boldin, per source with knowledge of the discussions.

Unbelievable... Big cap hit but talk about a counter punch to the Hawks jaws. Shocked

Love it.

I wonder about his salary though, we can't afford Boldin, our draft class, AND another big-name FA like Sean Smith.

I'd rather have waited until he inevitably hit FA though.

I also hope we extend him, but not too long. Maybe a 3 year/15M deal, like 5 per year.

Yikes... taking on his 6 mil base salary? Hmm... maybe we are cutting Rio loose on a medical.

The 49ers had about 15 picks in the 2013 draft, this doesn't even bother them.

Mother of god, was not expecting this today or didn't even know we had any interest. Solid trade I like it.

It doesn't bother us in terms of draft picks, but six million base salary is fairly big. I'm not mad at this move one bit though. Still think he plays similar to Crabtree as both excel in the slot. I think Manningham definitely is getting the boot now along with Moss already leaving.

Crabtree
Boldin
Williams
Jenkins

I am reading the Ravens are carrying 1.5 mil in dead money if Boldin was traded. So maybe his cap figure ends up being 4.5 mil?

Deal is contingent on Boldin passing a physical. But since he is currently on a mission in Africa that will take a little longer. Gives us time to create more cap space.

Your GM is the best in the business. I wish we had Baalke. Instead we get owned by him in trades. Sad

I love the move. Correct me if I'm wrong, but we still haven't released haralson, right? That should give us a couple million more. Could this mean Goodwin is on the chopping block too? I think that would be like an additional 3.5 million..between those two, wed nearly cover all boldins salary. Plus, I think it likely that Manningham is gone now

According to spotrac, his base salary is 6 mil and the dead money hit comes out of his signing bonus.. which is 1.531.250. So if true? Then he's on our books for 6 mil.

I want a Jacoby Jones type player. I was so jealous of the Ravens having Boldin and Jones in the SB.
