Very few teams will pay what Cruz is looking for with a first. He will stay with us for sure.

If you don't think he's holding if he doesn't get something close to his demands you're crazy. [no offense], but really, no way he doesn't.

19 TDs the past two seasons, he knows he's worth a lot.

He can't hold out unless he signs the tender.

"In the event that Cruz does sign the tender and holds out during training camp, he will be fined for each day he misses and runs the risk of losing an "accrued season" depending on how long he holds out. This means he will not be eligible for unrestricted free agency in 2014 and could be subject to the same cycle.

There is however, one avenue that has not been explored yet.

The general consensus is that the Giants will give Cruz the tender and subsequently let him flap in the wind until he signs it or he will reach a long term agreement with the team. However, and altnerative scenario that bears consideration involves the Giants offering Cruz a "band-aid" contract.

In 2010, the New York Jets had an ugly standoff with cornerback Darrelle Revis in training camp that nearly caused him to miss the season opener. The Jets did not give Revis the long-term contract that he wanted, but rather they opted to give him a "band-aid" deal that encouraged him not to hold out and stipulated that he could not be franchised under any circumstances.

This turned out to be a savvy move for the Jets, as Revis got injured this past season and despite shopping him, there are few teams in the league that believe Revis is worth the type of money he wants.

Victor Cruz wants to obtain market value for himself, as any player does. but the fact remains: in the spring of 2013, that will be difficult for him to do."-giants 101

Any offer over 6 mill a year and we wont match. Not when we get a first round pick and and randle in the wings.

He's going to Minnesota. Not a fact yet. Just...seems obvious.

Looking at the optimistic view, they could go after jennings

while Christian Ponder is the QB in Minnesota, there is arguably no worse place for Cruz to sign to cut his career off at the knees...

hahahaha. I don't see why Cruz won't except 6 million. Anyone think Giants would offer 7 and just backload it? Cruz needs Drew Rosenhaus

He'll get paid though. Plus I doubt Ponder is the long term plan in Minny.

They need a guy that can play slot like Harvin did IMO.

Its going to have to be a much bigger contract then what the Giants are offering for him to move away from his family and his endorsements deals

Well let's see what happens. I hope he stays a Giants but it's the price of doing business sometimes. As much as it pains me to say it Mad

Just for once I'd like to see the Giants keep the same skill position guys around Eli. The Giants offense isn't easy to learn.

If Cruz leaves, I can't think of a better situation than drafting Bailey in the third round. Would fill the slot role while Nicks and Randle take 1 and 2. Have 0 confidence in JJ.

Let me give you my personal opinion, on what I think has happened.
It all started with the release of the coke machine in Brandon Jacobs.
