Horribly overrated for the amount of money he wants, so there's no way we end up with him. He wants to be paid like a top corner, and he's too inconsistent to be considered a top corner; I also worry what will happen with him once he gets a big contract. He has the asset of having size, which is obviously something you can't teach. Personally I like talib much more.

I wonder if with all the talk if adding a corner if we are looking to move culliver to safety. We aren't cutting rogers this year (we will do it next year when there's only 600k of dead money as opposed to the over 6 million in dead money we would have if we cut him this year) and with brown still the best all around secondary player we have, it may be logical to move Cully to fs if we sign a starting caliber cb.

Let's hope it backfires on the Hawks. It could take a good chunk on their salary cap, then he starts getting migraines and misses a few games.

What I like about this is that Seahawks won't have a pick ahead of us. They needed help on the DL. Now that hypothetical player could be ours.

Gives us a better shot at Datone Jones. Seattle was rumored to have liked him.

The report said "at the right price". Smith wants 8 a year- we probably won't go over 5 or 6.

I'll be really surprised if Sean Smith is a 49er.

Barrows is saying word is we are "One of the, if not the, favorites" to land Smith.

Wow, that's shocking considering the money he wants. Maybe he and his agent are finding the market a little tepid and coming down on their demands? I wouldn't mind having him at the 5-6 range, but he's definitely not worth 8 or more

It's possible or maybe he decides he wants to play for a team with a good shot at a SB and decides he will take a bit less to play in SF over taking more to play for a team who missed the post-season.

Seeing Harvin twice a year is going to suck. He's the exact type of player that carves us up.

At first I was like damn. That's scary with him in that offense with Wilson and beast mode.

But they're giving up a first +...
I think they overpaid. So I think we're fine and datonte might fall to us now!

Also word is he is going to get paid enough to be in the top 5 as far as WR contracts go.

I'd also laugh if the Vikings trade that pick to the Giants or if it gives them the incentive to sign Victor Cruz who would have come at the cheaper price of only 1 first rounder, is a player who won't be a headache, and a better WR in the slot than Harvin.

Is Smith better than Rogers? If so it could be as easy as cut Rogers and sign Smith for the same money.

I'm hoping we sign Cribbs. He can be as good a returner as Harvin an OK backup WR in case one or two of our better WRs gets hurt (we've had some bad luck with WRs the past couple of years).

I'd be good with signing Cribbs, drafting Hopkins, and maybe a cost effective but still productive vet while Hopkins is groomed.

Is there a cap hit for cutting rogers?

I think it would create 6m in dead money. Cutting him next year would only create 600k in dead money if I am correct.
