I know the start of the season is still far away, but I keep getting the feeling we're rebuiliding a bit too much....

Am I the only one?

Clary is still on the roster. That means there's no rebuilding going on, and nobody cares about the future of the franchise.

How are we rebuilding too much? Honestly, this pessimistic outlook by some Charger fans on here and other forums is a bit tiresome.

I agree, I think that management is just finding players to fit thier scheme. Plus we didn't go out and spend just to spend. I liked that.

I am actually a little excited with the moves we are not making. We are saying, hey, we are going to take good value of what we have on the roster and then move forward. A quick fix wouldn't have brought us a championship. They aren't signing over priced one year rentals or stop gap development blocking "journeyman."

AJ's philosophy was you're a charger one year at a time. New management is setting us up to go with a youthful hungry roster. We are going to bring in a ton of UDFA which is not a bad thing. I like the changes right now.

We are going to have a fair amount of luck on our side to make the playoffs this year but year 2 this is a playoff team under the approach the chargers front office is taking now.

So... no one thinks we are rebuilding too much, yet no one expects us to make the playoffs this year...

I'm puzzled!

We haven't been a playoff team in years. We got by with a cupcake division for too long. We're changing that and gearing up to be a championship franchise not a make the playoffs and one and done retread.

Well that answers the question. Meachem could be next but at least he wants to be on the field. He just stinks.

I doubt Meachem gets cut, that is too much dead money for Dean to take.

Glad we cut Gathier, better to cut our losses while we can. Was not a fan of the long term extension in the first place.

Dont think Meachem gets cut. Too early to give up on him after a year

Meachem's cap hit is currently $6.875 million. If we cut him it would result in $10.625 million cap hit in dead money. I agree he stinks, but it makes no sense to cut him. He'll be here next season.

Yeah, that is really pathetic. Your new boss is trying to turn the page and maybe give you another chance and you can't even bother to show up. Rolling Eyes
