That rant about the fans cheering the Cassell injury was more about him getting in front of cameras than it was defending his QB. | He'd be perfect here. Our OL is garbage and the leadership spot is wide open. |

Lance Louis or Brandon Moore would work for me, we just need a veteran do we do not need to rely on Carimi and a draft pick. _________________ John Fox

People thought that he would be signed before FA began, and it's been almost 2 weeks and he's still out there and has only visited two teams (SD, MIA).
Rotoworld speculated that teams are only offering him a little more than the minimum, and given how FA has gone this year that wouldn't surprise me too much. If that is what other teams are offering him, why aren't the Bears in on him? |
Because we have 2 OTs.
If teams are offering him the minimum there is a reason whether it is injury or attitude. |
He'd still be an upgrade and if you can get that for the minimum or close to it, why not? Webb did get better last year, but not to the point where he's irreplaceable. At the very least, you're adding competition. |
If it was an upgrade over someone aging or that was not improving then I would say yes.
But I don't think you want to replace your improving 24 year old players.
John Abraham would be an upgrade over McClellin, but I would not sign him for the minimum. |
True, but Winston is only 29 Abraham will be 35 in a little over a month. Winston has got plenty of good football years ahead of him. |
But he is only going to play 1 year for the minimum.
Sometimes you need to let the young guys breathe. I though the coaches last season made a huge mistake not getting McClellin more reps on the field to develop. |
The way I see it is if he comes here on the vet min and doesn't pan out and sits on the bench all year, then there's no harm done and we part ways. Hell, they could even cut him mid season at almost no cost.
If he plays real well and wins the starting RT job, then we could try and sign him to a longer, fair-priced deal next offseason. Sure, that would hurt Webb's development, but I'm not completely sold on him in the first place. | Though I am sold on Webb, I would not mind seeing Winston brought in for a bargain. You can't have too many good linemen. |

There are a few good players on that list... and a lot of washed-up names. _________________

It doesn't look like anyone wants him. And honestly, if you want to see him suceed then I wouldn't wish he finds a new team because it probably won't end well. As writers have been saying there are no farewell tours in the NFL. _________________

Brad Biggs @BradBiggs 5m
#Browns have signed Jason Campbell, #Bears backup QB from last season per @AdamSchefter so search for a Cutler backup heads elsewhere.

I'd be cool with Vince Young being brought in as the backup.
And no, I'm not joking. _________________
