Are you really ready to rely on Spencer, JWill, and Herzlich as starters? JWill is the only one I would risk starting and he has trouble staying healthy. Kiwi is moving back to DE.

Currently, our starters at LB at WLB: Keith Rivers (?) MLB: Chase Blackburn SLB: JWill (?)

It's not just our dline's fault that we were at the bottom of the league against the run... LBs need a big-time upgrade.

Hopefully he can give us a nice push up the middle. How many times do we see JPP and Osi blow by the tackle only to have the QB step up in a nice clean pocket?

I'm sure we will still bring in a bigger DT via FA/draft. Don't forget that the coaches and front office are high on Kuhn. He gave us some quality snaps last year and his 7th round contract is appealing to the team.

Jwill/spencer plays weakside.
Herz in the middle with blackburn coming back most likely
Kiwi has been a situational slb

We play a lot of 2 backer sets with 3 safeties

This is why we never have a backer with 100+tackles. Most of them 2 down backers

Nope. I think we're way more likely to go OT, DE, and CB. Highest that Reese ever drafted a LB was when we draft Clint Sintim. Other than him, we usually take LBs in the middle to backend of the draft.

that's the whole point. and look where that LB corps quality currently stands. noone in their right mind would argue that the Giant's linebackers are anything but a bottom-5 unit in the league right now.

is this something that you'd really be comfortable with? who backs up JWill? you know, seeing as he has such an impeccable track record of being able to stay healthy and all.

and if you want to play 2 LB sets, then Herz is certainly not your answer. not athletic enough and too easy to isolate away from a play. he is really suited for base 4-3 work.

Who needs a top 15 linebacking corp with a top defensive line. The giants philosophy is can never have too many pass rushers. Not linebackers. The only ones that need to be outthere for three downs is spencer and jacquain

that's fine. no one's arguing (at least i'm not) the philosophy re pass rushers. but to me there's a difference between building around your core focus and neglecting certain aspects that still need to support that core competency.

absolutely not. J-Will can't stay healthy. Kiwi is moving back to DE. What have you seen from spencer or mark to make you think LB isn't a need?!?! It's the most glaring need on the roster. Rivers is a FA.

that's some artistic liberty to say he is "getting comparisons" armstead. that article is over 18 months old, and quotes Armstead himself as a Giants coach. hardly objective.

also, i'm not sure what info is on rotoworld that is supposed to change our viewpoints.

What other comparision do you want other than from the man himself? Plus hes proven himself in the past two years to have the potential.

Heres another link from big blue view who shows pro football focus stats
