I think Kelly is going to quickly learn that NFL players are not replaceable parts like college kids. It's fun to watch the pace, but it's not sustainable or conducive to winning in the playoffs.

I had my doubts about Chip Kelly. I figured he was going to be the next Nick Saban/Steve Spurrier rather than the next Pete Carroll or Jim Harbaugh, given the latter pair's prior experience in the NFL and former's lack thereof.

I thought Kelly was over-hyped, but last night went a little ways towards changing my mind. Not all the way and I agree Kelly's system still has some flaws, as you mention, and I think NFL DCs will adapt to it now that they have an idea what to expect. Last night Mike and Jim Haslett had no idea what to expect, that won't be the case for Philly in weeks and months ahead.

What if they already knew what to expect but just did not have the personnel to defend it? I do not quite see how this system, outside of injuries or sloppy execution, can be stopped on a week to week basis.

They had an inkling of what to expect but really didn't know enough to game plan for it. Remember Mac's first 6 games here? Everyone knew to expect some bastard child of New England but until they coached against Mac and learned his tendencies he looked like a genius. What was the end result once the league knew what was coming and how to prepare for it?

Now I'm not comparing Kelly to Mac. By all indications Kelly has people skills that Mac sorely lacked and time will tell if he can learn to adapt and alter things with his system in a way that Mac was unwilling or unable to do. What I'm saying is that a first time Head Coach has a built in advantage whereby opposing coaches are game-planning blind in the first half of the year. We saw a similar thing with Schiano in Tampa last year, a 6-4 start followed by a 1-5 finish.

Every year that goes by since Shanahan left Denver one wonders how the term "MasterMind" and "Shanahan" can be in the same sentence.

I had my doubts but I think McCoy is going to be a good coach. Yes, the Chargers collapsed last night but I saw something in them. That team can beat anyone on a given day.
I think they will play hard for McCoy and any team that goes in there assuming a "W" will get beat.

I was always more confident in McCoy's head coaching abilities (management) over his coordinator abilities (scheming/gameplanning). I think McCoy will have success as a head coach in the NFL (maybe not with the Chargers - a large number of head coaches fail in their first stint).

DUDE. It's un-freaking-real.

I was about to come into here and post about it. Like, 2 days straight of rain and it's been monsooning for like 6 hours.

Might play water polo on Farrand tomorrow or somethin

Struggling with deciding who to start at my flex.

Mike Wallace @ Ind
Julius Thomas @ NYG (I have Graham at TE)
Joique Bell @ 'Zona

Need advice badly!

I'm leaning towards Thomas, what do you guys think?

Im between Thomas and Wallace. I dont think you can go wrong with either.

Thomas is clearly on the upswing and NYG dont have great cover LBs.
Wallace was severely under-utlized and IND doesnt have CBs that can cover him.
