Coakley was one of the good guys in the game. He will be missed by the fans and the organization. This was a cut that most of us new was coming for quite some time. It makes sense and was inevitable wether we transition to a 3 - 4 defense or not. But, it doesn't guarantee anything regarding FA or draft picks IMO _________________

I remember when we first drafted Coackley, I was so pissed. But after time you saw that even though he was undersized he played the position better than most in the league. He will be missed but you know someone has to leave for somebody else to take his place. Hopefully him being cut brings in somebody to fill in his shoes. _________________ "If you ain't first, you're Last!!" |

500,000 roster bonus plus a 3.3 million dollar salary.
the Cowboys did the right thing. they wanted him to restructure and he chooses to test FA...its a gamble for him. |

I was reading that he will test FA and run all offers thru Valley Ranch to see if they can match or come close to any offers he receives.
He might not be gone, but for 3.3 million he will be. _________________ If you can read this, thank a teacher.

hmmmm wouldn't that be something. Dat and Hartwell in the middle Bell on the outside and draft Merriman to play the othe side. that would be a nice set of LBs to have in a 3-4. and when we run the 4-3 put Merriman at DE, move Dat to the weak side and hartwell in the middle. opposing offensive coord. will have a heck of a time game planning. _________________ Cowboys Forever |
