Wow...do we have to pick just one??

How about trading up with Dallas into the first round for Andre Johnson? Dude never played a down for us?

Or how about trading a 3rd and a 4th for TJ Duckett?

Or trading a 2nd and 6th for "Warmup"?

Trading a 3rd for Brunell

Trading back up into the 1rst for Campbell.

Those top the trades.

Signings?

Easily:

Haynesworth
Archuleta
Lloyd
Mark Carrier
Deion Sanders

Yup, he's in the mix (ahead of Deion and Carrier). But we at least got some production out of him (more than Haynesworth that's for sure).

if we're just judging off performance, Archuleta takes the cake and we also decided to not re-sign Ryan Clark who's been a pro bowler for Pittsburgh and is still playing FS for them.

Also, if we re-sign Clark, we never have to draft Landry. Oddly enough, if you forget about the money given to Haynesworth, Archuleta was worse.

Don't disagree. Its why I lislted them the way I did. Only reason Fat Al is #1 is the $$$. He at least gave us a decent season.

Also - if you want to look at letting guys go. Here's some stupid moves (in no particular order)

Ryan Clark going to the Steelers
Chris Clemons to the Seahawks

There's a few more that I'll add later but these come to mind off the top of my head (thanks Turtle for Clark)

well chris Clemons took forever to reach his ceiling, he left here in a big FA deal but didn't do much in Philly or Oak. I wish we could have kept him, but he wasn't worth what he got paid t his stops before he landed in the perfect scheme for him where he has no run responsibilities in Seattle. Basically, it took him 6 years and the perfect system to reach his potential.

Ryan Clark, now that was a huge Vinny eff up! Twisted Evil

The other one, which was not our fault, was Trent Green.

He was on our roster. The problem was that we could not talk to him because the ownership was in flux at the time and possibly changing hands. So he left.

The one move I can think of that still kind of bothers me after a few years, is not the worst move.
But I think it's a very underrated bad move, that doesn't get talked about in Redskins land.

And that's the 2nd rd trade for DE Jason Taylor.(MIA) in I believe 2008. (for 2009 draft)

Season was here and the draft had come & gone and we lost some players from injury.

So we sent Miami a 2nd rd pick for DE Jason Taylor. (who was old even then...lol)

Problem is....
He only started 8 games...gets hurt....very little production, then goes back to Miami that very next season. We only had the dude for 1 season. (That was even before the Jets would eventually add him to their squad under Rex Ryan)

Miami would go on and draft Pat White with that very same 2nd rd selection.
So fortunately, it didn't become a colossal mistake but still...

It was a bad panic move, that really hurt the team, imo.
There were some very good players picked in that (2009)2nd rd we could have used.

Anyways...thought I would share that.

Thai talked about that, it was typical Vinny Cerrato panic move. It's not like JTaylor was totally done, when he got healthy, he left us and went on to have a few more productive years with the Dolphins and Jets. With 7, 5 and 7 sacks.

If we had been able to keep Taylor after the 08 season, it would have worked out to be a good trade. He would have for well with our 3-4 scheme in 2010 and 2011.
