youre crazy, we can live with our FS situation. DT, CB/WR. Thing is no CB in this draft at 14 i think is worth it. _________________

Who plays FS for us? Nakamura? Martin? There are DTs at 14 worth being draft. No WR this season is worthy of the 14th pick. Jonathan Banks is worth the 14th overall pick at CB IMO. Played in the SEC for 4 years and produced. Big, a little slim but could put on weight. Good speed, hands and ball tracking. I wouldnt be mad if we took him 14th. _________________ "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood

He had a poor combine and pro day, so theres almost no chance of that. _________________

If we dodge WR in the 1st rd and this guy is sitting there in the second we'd be fools not to take him, tremendous upside, good size, speed, hands. Hes the complete package, just being overshadowed by the sexy names at the top of peoples boards right now. I think he could step in right away as our #2, then we could move Lafell over to the #3 slot while we evaluate Gettis and develop Joe Adams. _________________

I agree.
I would love Lane Johnson/DeAndre Hopkins.
Or Cordarrelle Patterson/DJ Swearinger. _________________

I like Hopkins (looked into him more). I think he goes before we pick in the second--here is why:
C. Patterson is very raw and flashy. Boom or bust. We need sure things.
T. Austin was very impressive in that system in that conference. a 175 lb slot WR is about like a 275 lb G. Austin will be a situational WR and a KR in the NFL.
J. Hunter has issues with his hands. What is the point of having a WR if the QB does not trust him?
K. Allen has been compared to Jordy Nelson. Speed is also a concern. Did not work out at combine. Jordy Nelson was not a first rounder, not should he have been.
.
I am making these comments based on which round they will be available.
Q. Patton, D. Hopkins, R. Swope are actually better options. THey lack the flash, but will be consistnt pros. However, WR takes time because there is so much precision and timing involved. Taking a "project" at WR is like saying, "I do not mind the fact that it will take him 2 years to develop and the liklihood of busting is high." |
