Per Jurecki, Wilson has been informed that the team intends to release him today. _________________

Most likely mean they got a deal done with Rashad Johnson. |

Sad day for Cardinals fans. He was one of the only reasons to show up at Sun Devil stadium for a Cards game back in the day. One of my all time favorite players. Good luck AW and thanks for the memories! |

it really is a shame, this is a guy who lived and bled Cardinal football. He took a pay cut last year to help the team out, and has been the greatest leader this franchise could have ever asked for. Losing Wilson is a huge loss in that department...he can not and will not be replaced there...ever.
this is more than just a sad day to be a Cardinal fan. Words cannot describe how terrible this is. _________________

I just hope he goes to a contender and get a ring he very much deserves. |

He is clearly on the downside of his career but I was hoping he could take another paycut. I understand this financially though. A new coaching staff and GM don't want to have money tied up just for sentimental reasons. They are trying to start a new era. Hopefully A-Dub finds his way to a contender, preferably outside the NFC West. . |

Terrible decision, veteran prescence that will be greatly missed. Might as well add his name to the ring of honor right now _________________

Why a terrible decision? That's a little dramatic. If there was no such thing as a salary cap then sure that's what it would be. But this move saves us roughly 3 million which would be enough in itself to bring back Rashad Johnson, a player who will probably out perform A-Dub at this point in his career.
A-Dub was a great and loyal player. I hope he either just retires as a cardinal right now or goes to a contender. |

34 yr old backup safeties dont make $3 mil, that is business unfortunately.
Adub you are a legend, but your play slipped last year, I hope you retire a Cardinal and only that.
You will litter our record books and our minds with your 12 years of wonderful service. |

You could really start to see him breaking down in 2010-11'...
He was awesome in his prime but those years came when we sucked. He will always be a great Card-
Holy crap, once Early gets cut and Kolb cut/re-structured we'll be 16-17m under that cap. First year draft picks will take up 4-5m but we can easily re-sign Toler/Johnson and maybe Groves. _________________

I've seen a couple places say that draft picks cost roughly 6-7m to lock up generally. _________________

And then comes back to be a DBs coach.

Retire and come back as a coach
Then replace Arians as HC in a few years, nice ring to it. |
