Like I've said, the only ones that will REALLY irk me are the young guys like Knighton and especially Cox.

#Jaguars clear $6.17M in cap space by releasing CB Aaron Ross and S Dawan Landry. Now under $90M in estimated cap

Cut EVERYONE!!!

I'm kinda scratching my head on this one. I would've understood Lowery out. But i guess if Caldwell really wants to give Gus the Safety tandem he wants long-term, maybe he wants a faster, more versatile guy in Landry's spot and leave Lowery as the other guy?

This is understandable. As much as I like Dawan, he was on a team that went 2-14 this past season. So with his contract, I understand letting him go and building the team that Bradley wants. With Ross leaving I really think Dee is our pick. And if that's the case, I would love to grab Elam in the 2nd.

I believe we're going to pick up our RT in FA. Maybe a Vollmer or such.

I'm all for gutting the team and not overpaying in FA. I'm ok with these moves if they take us away from 2-14.

He seems to fit the role Cam Chancellor plays.

If all these rumors are true, this defense is going to be so bad year one.

Terrance gone, Mincey gone, Daryl gone, Cox gone, Mathis gone, Ross gone, Landry gone

There's just not enough selections in the draft to fill these holes on top of the ones we already had.

I get that they were bad last year, and only had one year good as a group, but this seems like overkill. Hopefully that means they're going to resign a couple guys or be a bit active in free agency.

We were 2-14, with one of, if not the worst defenses in league with these guys. Staying the same and adding a few new pieces isn't the way to go. We have a zero percent chance of competing next year. With all the cap space we have, I'd cut every under preforming player, eat all the dead money this year, and go into next year with a ton of cap space and another high draft class to build on.

That's understand. But I (and I recognize I'm probably in a minority here) think this defense is much better than they performed as last year. From the way the scheme didn't fit the players (and I spoke on this a lot) to how the players hated Mularkey and all of that and of course Daryl's injury, I think we saw a defense that was set up for failure. I think the unit would be much better under Bradley.

That said, I do understand that you have to make changes to a 2-14 squad, I just think it's opening too many holes with not enough draft choices to fill them in year one. I'm still confident that the ship will get righted after a couple-three draft classes, but I think we may end up being something awful next year, even worse than this past year, if we don't keep some of the guys that actually played well and put better players next to them.

I'm starting to think Caldwell is really expecting to acquire more picks, Maybe he has a bead on a trade. Or he's going to be active in free agency.

I mean we're gunna be starting 4-5 UDFA's at this rate.

Don't be that guy...

I'm not sure there's anyone in this draft that really does. Just seems like a weak draft for thumpers at safety.

There isn't anyone with the size and speed of Kam, but I like Elam, Swearinger, Shamarko, and Shawn Williams a lot as potential guys we could look at for the SS position. Swearinger is faster in games than what he tested at during the the combine IMO. He also lights people up.

Maybe now we can acquire the other Landry now? The physical freak and fast hard hitting one.

You know this one:

Or convert Tyrann Mathieu to Safety.

TJ is the closest to having the size and speed of Kam. I love Shamarko and Swearinger but, I think we will target a taller prospect.

TJ - 6'2.5, 40 yard dash - 4.59, 19 bench reps, 33 1/8 arms, 6.89 3 cone, 4.2 shuttle.
Kam - 6'3.25, 40 yard dash - 4.62, 22 bench reps, 33 arms, 6.88 3 cone, 4.33 shuttle
