The move saves the Jags $1.45 million in cap space and $5.35 million in cash.

Landry signed a five-year, $27.5 million contract in 2011, the deal included $10.5 million guaranteed.

Landry started up all 32 games for the Jaguars the past two seasons, recording 197 tackles and 3 INT's.

He is a good tackling Safety that is only average in coverage.

Definitely surprising, if true. I thought he fit very well in the new system.

I'd assume this would put us in the market for Goldson since there's nobody on the roster who doesn't present a significant gap in ability.

I like Elam, but I'm afraid his frame can't handle his style of play.

I like the move, I'll like it more if it's the sign of more to come. I'd cut Mincey, Ross, and Robinson. We are in the middle of restarting, not rebuilding. Rip off the band aid.

I assume Ross is good as gone, but I'd keep both Mincey and Robinson - they have something to offer.

If all these rumors are true, this defense is going to be so bad year one.

Terrance gone, Mincey gone, Daryl gone, Cox gone, Mathis gone, Ross gone, Landry gone

There's just not enough selections in the draft to fill these holes on top of the ones we already had.

I get that they were bad last year, and only had one year good as a group, but this seems like overkill. Hopefully that means they're going to resign a couple guys or be a bit active in free agency.

Losing Ross doesn't hurt much, if at all. I doubt Mincey is going anywhere.

I have to believe Pot Roast, Cox and Daryl will at least have some form of negotiations.

I think Ross fits much, much better in the press coverage scheme that Bradley likes to run than what we ran last year. Why we decided to play zone all year when we have Cox, Mathis and Ross, all who are better at press coverage than zone makes absolutely no sense to me.

I'd love to see all three of those back, but we'll see.

With the Free Agency negotiation period starting tonight, I think we'll know who is staying very soon. You'd think they'd do the right thing and cut guys before that, so they have a chance to catch on somewhere else.

Dawan was slow as crap. Horrible in coverage.

Caldy wants more speed on this team.
