Hoyer did pretty well coming off 2 or so weeks of practice to face a stiff 49ers defense.
19 of 34 for 225 yards with 55.9% completion. 6.62 yards per attempt, longest pass of 53 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT, 73.8 QB rating.
Not eye popping but definitely something to look at as a backup QB and to see how he develops. I'm surprised he looked as "good" as he did behind that line. _________________

Only Arizona would believe Hoyer worth keeping around. _________________

Honestly, sometimes I don't understand why this franchise just won't go and ball up for a legit QB. Everything else is in the soup to make a run at the SB but a legit QB. Even when Kurt Warner came to town it wasn't exactly like they had to fight for him. Think NYG's just cast him off if I remember right and the first year he didn't start over Josh McCown or something?
Imo, staff needs to take a bigger harder looking into the scouting/developing department at QB. I think they're moving in that direction with the Bruce Ariens hire. |

It's actually reported that other NFL people would have been interested in Hoyer had he earned UFA status because of his showing in the 49ers game. _________________

Officially given a 2nd round tender. Skelton or Lindley could be on the outs or at least one gone by end of camp. _________________

I think we could end up seeing Kolb, Skelton, and lindley all gone soon. _________________

Skelton & Lindley are so damn cheap though. Might as well keep one of them.... _________________

Isn't Skelton a RFA?
EDIT: just looked it up, he is not. Need to try to get a 7th rounder or something _________________ Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.

Forget Stanton let's just roll with Hoyer and a rookie with 1 of Skelton/Lindley at 3rd string... _________________

Well hey I'd prefer trading for Aaron Rodgers but that's just not happening. _________________

I was going to post that Dez, or something to that effect.
Hoyer showed more in a few weeks than Lindley has done, and really is ahead of Skleton.
How the rosters shakes out come Sep, who knows, interesting to see the winning 3. |
